A Fitting End to a Brilliant Series
I found out yesterday that this is to be the last book in the Goth Girl series and I am somewhat disconsolate about that. The good news is that there looks to be a new Ottoline book in the pipeline so all is not lost. I love Riddell and everything he does, whether it's illustrations for others or his own works. Goth Girl is particularly wonderful because the books work on so many levels. They are a joy to read to children, wonderful for children to enjoy by themselves and brilliant for parents who like in jokes. This book sees Lord Goth, 'Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Gnomes,' inventing 'Gothstock' a festival he hosts at Goth Hall for music lovers. There is so much to enjoy here. The faun sub plot is beautiful, the digs at Trump and Simon Cowell are hilarious and the breadth of Riddell's lampooning is phenomenal. A fitting end to a brilliant series.

... little addition to the Goth Girl series and a fun parody of modern culture in the regency era
A delightful little addition to the Goth Girl series and a fun parody of modern culture in the regency era. Chris Riddell's art work is always great and his writing has a fun kick to it.
