"The Truth About Pet Safety”
"The Truth About Pet Safety”You can use the AllSafe Harness the way it is shown in the video. However, the AllSafe Harness comes with a SHORT Tether in the box that we recommend using for the best comfort and flexibility for your dog. The fact is, the AllSafe Harness has a longer track record of safety in real world applications than any other dog safety harness in the world.I suggest that you do some research to understand the science and the facts related to Safe Pet Travel and Crash Tested Pet Products. The AllSafe Harness used with the SHORT Tether, when used and installed as recommended by the manufacturer, has a perfect track record of safety going on 17 years now. Nobody else but AllSafe can honestly make this claim.I would also suggest that you investigate the CPS Test Methodology in more detail. You may find that the CPS “Ideal Crash Position” is not always possible to replicate in a real world situation.CPS does not mention that the seat belt is bolted and locked in position during their test so there can be no slack introduced in to the seat belt. Without locking the seat belt in the shortest position, you cannot reproduce the results promoted by CPS.The AllSafe Harness is the ONLY Crash Tested Dog Harness that provides safety clips and instructions to secure the seat belt in the shortest position possible. This assures the AllSafe Harness is used by the end user the same way it was crash Tested in a real world scenario. In addition, I would suggest you try traveling with your dog in the CPS “Ideal Crash Position” and see if your pet can handle being seated with their spine immobilized against the back set while not being able to move their hips for longer than a few minutes. In addition, check to see if your dog is comfortable sitting in CPS “Ideal Crash Position” and not being allowed to lay down, turn around or get comfortable. The only way this can happen is if the pet owner allows slack in the seat belt for movement and comfort of the dog. This manufacturers is NOT the way CPS tested harnesses and it will endanger BOTH the human occupants and the dogs putting them at risk of serious or fatal injury. Our SHORT tether allows the dog to have freedom of movement while still protecting the dog. If the dog slips off the seat a bit, this is not fatal or dangerous. This has been proven over 17 years of real world accidents. The CPS “Ideal Crash Position” sounds nice in theory but you may find that it is not practical or reproducible in the real world. If you do not use a Crash Tested Product in the exact way it was tested, then you are putting you, your loved ones and your pets at risk. It is quite easy to see who takes Safe Pet Travel seriously. Please visit 4x4 North America and read about the facts in our “Safety & Testing Knowledge Center.” You will find a wealth of information there that will enlighten you about the flawed test methodology and misinformation spread by manufacturers and testing organizations. You will also learn about the real dangers of safe pet travel.

False Advertising
I didn't buy this tether but I've been looking for quite a while for a safe harness for my dog car rides and I just had to leave a comment here. The 1 star rating is not for the tether itself but for the false advertising. The video shown with this product is the only test scenario in which the Allsafe harness passed the Center for Pet Safety crash tests and the dog is NOT using this tether in that video. Instead, the seatbelt is passed directly thru the harness. The full report from the Center for Pet Safety can be found here http://www.centerforpetsafety.org/test-results/harnesses/case-study-allsafe-harness.
