Great Sprinkler Heads at a Great Price
Needed to go through an entire 10-zone sprinkler system with most heads that wouldn't pop up (or down). These were inexpensive and made it simple to revive this old sprinkler system.

These Are NOT Authentic RainBird 1804 Sprinkler Heads!!!
I did a similar comparison to a true RainBird 1804 head and the differences are subtle but definitely there. First, as mentioned in another comment, the lip, on the body, that you screw the cap down to, is thinner on these. The overall length of the body is ever so slightly shorter (maybe 1/64th") on these which causes the nozzle to stick up very slightly higher when retracted. If you remove the cap and riser from the body and look down at the inside at the 1/2" female threads at the base, these have four support flanges around the base connection, RainBird has eight.I actually tested all five of these alongside an authentic 1804, on a tall shrub riser in my system. In truth, I had no issues with the function of any of these (brand new) units or their spray heads. Of course, my test was conducted on a "sterile", above ground, extended riser, not down in the mud and grass roots where these heads are designed to perform. I did not have a "15 HE-VAN" nozzle to compare them to, but they functioned comparably, in spray and range, to a "15 VAN" nozzle. The threads are correct for interchangeability with true RainBird nozzles. All units popped up to the expected 4" height and retracted as expected. I have to say, visually and functionally, these are very accurate forgeries. My concerns are these. Did the manufacturer use UV stabilized plastic and stainless steel springs (I'll know the answer to both of these questions a year from now). Further, the RainBird 1800 series is famous for its patented co-molded wiper seal which clears debris at pop-down. Did the forger bother to duplicate this feature as well. Only time will tell. While my units all worked well out of the box, I fear that, in a year or two, I may regret this purchase when I start having to replace these heads again.
