I would buy again
I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and it’s still going strong. Heat is great. Vibration on the butt helps too. I like how it has the option to focus on upper body or lower body, because if you select the whole body option and you’re sitting back on this thing, it digs pretty deep on the lower back and it’s kinda painful. So when I have it on the lower body setting, I sit a little forward. Upper body I sit up completely against it, and it hits the knots in my upper shoulder, but I’m 5’5. I’m sure if you’re taller and scooted down it could hit your shoulders as well.

Does what it is designed to do
Bought this for my husband and myself as we have back issues from being the OG GENX crowd 😂Works very wellLoosens up tight musclesJust place a thin blanket between you and the massager because those nubs dig inThe neck part doesn't quite cut it, I am short so it doesn't get to where it should (I purchased a separate neck massager)But all the functions work well and if you're taller than me it will be enough 😂

Barebones massager / heat function doesn't work
This is a VERY barebones shiatsu massage cushion. It does the absolute bare minimum, and sometimes not even that. Specifically, the "heat" function on this unit is laughable for how weak it is (to the point it's undetectable). Also my shiatsu massage cushion was branded "Coby" and not "Gideon" as shown in the pictures in the Amazon listing. At the current discount price of $50, it's a decent deal. However, I paid the $70 regular price and feel ripped off. At $70 you would be better off spending slightly more money for a higher quality product. One where the heating element actually works.Pros:* Price. Similar spec shiatsu cushions can cost close to or over $100* The pressure is acceptable. It's not too rough or light.* The cushion is self-standing and doesn't need to be strapped to the back of the chair you put it on.* Whenever the unit is powered off (be it manually, or by the 15 minute auto-shut off,) the shiatsu rotors reset to the very lowest position before turning off completely. (Other massage cushions just stop wherever the rotors happen to be, which can be uncomfortable if they stop mid back).Cons:* There's no way to select a time other than 15 minutes.* Vibration only has two settings: ON and OFF. You can't increase/decrease the intensity of the vibration.* No settings to increase/decrease the intensity of the shiatsu rotors.* The "heat" function is a joke. Even on my bare skin I couldn't feel any kind of appreciable difference between the heat being on and off. All the heat button seems to do is change the light color on the rotors from white to red when you turn it on.* The manual. This product manual was clearly written by someone who isn't fluent in English.* The aforementioned inconsistent branding. The Amazon listing has the brand as "Gideon", while the outer shipping box has the company listed as "Calily Holdings Inc", whereas the inner-box and unit itself are branded "Coby".

Portable relief
This back massager is absolutely perfect almost anywhere you want to use it for a nice relaxing massage. I particularly like the fact that the design allows for the actual curvature of the body. I got out of my chair yesterday and felt the absence of the massaging vibrations on my legs and rear. I also like that it doesn’t heat that area because, well, sweaty. My lower back has not felt so relaxed and limber in a long time and I looked forward to moving around with an ease I had not enjoyed in a while. I love being able to move the massager around to almost anywhere I want and enjoy a nice relaxing heated massage almost anywhere. Gotta be careful though because too much of a good thing and you won’t want to stand up and move around anymore, lol.

A Mixed Bag: Effective Massager with Misleading Description
Pros:Provides a strong, deep tissue shiatsu massage for back, shoulders, and (in my 6'1" case, almost) neck.Heat feature adds a soothing element to the massage experience.Easy to set up and use; compatible with various chairs.Portable and compact, making it convenient to move between rooms or take on the go.Cons:The product received (Coby brand) did not match the advertised Gideon brand.Missing advertised features such as adjustable massage nodes and multiple vibration settings.Lack of adjustability and/or cover makes for what could be a rough massage experience.Lacks sufficient height to effectively reach the neck and shoulders for taller individuals. Some inaccuracies in product descriptions reduce confidence in the purchase. The details:This shiatsu back and neck massager is a case of a product that delivers well in function but stumbles in accuracy and representation. The massage itself is impressive—strong and targeted, with a kneading motion that works wonders on sore muscles. The heat function is a welcome addition, making it perfect for unwinding after a long day at work. I found it particularly useful on my mid back, where tension tends to build up the most. However, the discrepancies in the product description are hard to ignore. The model I received lacked the adjustable massage nodes and additional vibration settings mentioned in the listing, which would have added comfort and versatility. For anyone taller than about 5'10", the massager’s height might leave something to be desired when trying to target the neck and shoulders.Despite these shortcomings, it’s a solid option for those looking for a convenient, at-home DEEP(as in borderline painful) massage solution. The compact design means you can easily set it up in an office chair or recliner, and it folds away neatly when not in use. Still, I’d recommend checking all the features carefully before purchasing, as accuracy in advertising is clearly a weak point here.Rating: 3 out of 5This massager performs well where it counts but loses stars for the inaccuracies in its listing and the mismatched product branding. If you’re more focused on functionality than features, it’s still a worthwhile purchase. But if the details matter to you, proceed with caution.
