Perfect!
A few years ago, my Husband and I started buying swords for our wedding anniversary. Most of them are merely decorative, except for one. One of my swords is Connor MacLeod's Katana, and it's actually very sharp. After getting it I started the tradition of cutting watermelons with it for my Preschooler. He thinks it's literally the greatest thing on the planet :DAs you can imagine, the sword needs care. Even with wiping it down thoroughly, it was becoming obvious that it needed more care than that. So I ordered this kit.The kit came quickly and was really well packaged. Everything was included. There were no leaks, no spills, no splinters or burs. Everything was really packaged will in the box. The box is lightweight wood, nothing fancy, and it can be a bit tough getting everything back in. The dust, the oil, and the cloth all worked really well when I followed the instructions. The difference was VERY noticeable. I'll definitely be getting again.Side note: I didn't have need for the hammer. BUT I did put it together, and it seems like your will have to really twist it together to get it to stay together and not fall apart easily. Personally If it's something you will use more often, I'd recommend a bit of plumbers tape in the threads to help hold it together. After a good cleaning, I'm now ready to re-enter the Game and have my personal lil Watcher keep official record of my Watermelon kill count.

Great value for the money
This is a great little cleaning kit for the money. It has everything you need to take care of your Katana (or Wakizashi) all in a neat little package. It has two bottles of choji oil, while most kits only come with one. It also has a decent quality combination hammer & awl for removing/replacing the mekugi, along with two spare mekugi. It also has a fairly generously portioned uchiko ball and a microfiber cloth for cleaning the blade. The only thing it doesn't have are the little rice papers which are good for oiling the blade, but those can be found for very cheap. I think the manufacturer just thought that the microfiber cloth would take their place, but I think most people like the traditional rice papers because they leave a nice protective sheen of oil on the blade. At any rate, given the price (I think it was about $10, but I can't say for sure because it's not currently available,) it's a steal considering everything you get. I would not hesitate to buy another one (unless the price skyrockets due to reasons that shall remain unspoken here.)

Missing oil
I’ve been waiting for this to arrive so I can maintain my sword after use. When it arrived, it came in a little pouch, not in the box advertised. After opening the product, I found there was no oil included, only the rags it’s supposed to come with.

Nice and simple
Can't believe I've been missing this all these years. Great starter set with easy instructions on katana care. Was pretty careful in keeping my katanas cleanly wiped after use and the oil from the sheaths kept up for a while(for the very rare usage) but eventually it's nice to give it a fresh coat. Not sure how often or if you would want to change out the pegs though.

Cleaned all 3 of my Japanese swords without a hitch
I cleaned my Wakizashi, my Katana and my Tanto swords and still have product left for the next cleaning. The Katana Cleaning kit comes in a nice wooden box containing 2 bottles of choji oil, an uchiko ball, a brass hammer, cleaning cloth, 2 bamboo pegs (mekugi), and an instruction sheet. There are plenty of YouTube videos available if you need more instructions on cleaning, but the included instructions tell you most of what you need to know. You only need a small amount of choji oil to protect your sword after cleaning, so there is plenty left over for additional cleanings.I've tried a few sets like this over the years and this one would be one of my top picks. Keeping your swords clean takes very little time, is a nice meditation, and helps to make your swords last a long time. HIghly recommended.
