It was incredibly helpful to be able to visualize the molecules in 3 diimensions. The pieces fit snuggly and are relatively easy to assemble. I was so impressed, I immediately ordered the Supplementary Kit. Great product.

Perfect for my daughter's Chem II class.

I am taking Orgo 1 now and this kit is perfect. My professor has us use it to model structures in class and even on exams. My friends with slightly cheaper kits have had some trouble, but this is kind of the right balance between sturdy and not-too-expensive. Highly recommend. It also comes with a stencil for organic chemistry shapes which I didn't realize and is really nice. All of the bits also have resealable plastic bags which is helping me keep it organized. The lid of the box doesn't stay on without rubber bands though which makes it a bit of a hassle to carry around.

This is a decent kit for general use. It has a sufficient number of pieces for making common molecules that one might encounter in a general chemistry course. However, for organic chemistry, the molecules get a bit larger and if you want to make models of several large molecules side-by-side for comparison, this kit may not have enough parts.Moreover, some of the pieces can be a bit difficult to connect and disconnect, which can become uncomfortable if you spend a lot of time building and deconstructing models. The lid that the box comes in does not have a clasp and sits loosely on the base, so I would recommend storing the pieces in a more secure container for those who are prone to knocking things over and don't want molecular model kit pieces everywhere.

The tolerances feel perfect - each molecule and bond fits together with just the right amount of resistance. Expect consistent, high quality parts, with the occasional slight defect on a mold seam line.The molecules and single bonds are made of solid, high quality plastic that feels great to handle and doesn't break when bent. The double bonds and flexible elements are also extremely well made, flexing just enough to be useful while remaining stiff enough to maintain a good fit and long lifetime.Highly recommend this kit.

I bought this for my high school aged daughter who is in AP Chemistry. She uses chemistry model kits in class to help with learning, and finds it so helpful she wanted one of her own. She knows she will get a lot of use with it for school work now and in the future as she wants to study chemistry in college. She also just likes to play with it haha. The pieces are constructed very nicely and fit together perfectly. There's even a little tool piece to help take the pieces apart which is handy. Everything is of excellent quality.HOWEVER, I will agree with all of the other reviewers who commented on the box not being big enough to hold all the pieces and close properly. This is 100% true. It's so odd how they are even trying to get all of these pieces into this box. I don't even think the box will stay closed well with it being empty! Such a strange design. We are buying another latching container to put this in. I'm still happy with the kit, but just know you'll need another storage solution.

The molecular sets we had were difficult to assemble, so we looked for sets that had pieces that didn't take much effort to put together. The pieces in the models do not fall apart after the models are assembled as well. There are plenty of pieces in the kit for our students to assemble all the required models for this class.

I am using this for O-chem and some biology courses. Kit was received brand new with no blemishes or issues. Some kits do not hold together very well or are super hard to build (i.e. double bonds). This pieces in this kit hold together very well and are pliable so they hold their shape even after a lot of bending.The only thing I wish for from this kit is a better container. Unfortunately the container doesn't clamp or snap shut very well so I have to use a rubber band to keep all the pieces in the container. If you buy the kit I would suggest getting a large rubber band to wrap around it if you plan to take this anywhere. I would also suggest to the manufacturer to build out their guide with a full list of compounds/formulas. I am sure most of us google it but it would be a nice not required. If you were hoping for a long list I would suggest looking at a chem/bio book or googling it.As my expectation for the kit was mainly its contents I am giving this 5 stars as that was most important to me.
