Q: What are the equivalent sizes to small and medium, i.e. Size 12/14 ?

I can't answer for small and larger sizes. I use these for gardening so wanted roomy trousers. I wear UK size 10/12 and Medium fits perfectly with plenty of room to move.

Q: Are these on the natural waist or lower than that? Thanks in advance.

I would say they are quite high waisted nice and comfy too.

Q: Can anyone tell me how you keep the knee pads in place when the opening for pads is at the bottom?

There is a small pocket at bottom that they tuck in to . I’ve had no problem keeping the knee pads in place with this .
