impressed with how nice this kit is
I am self-taught in cross stitch and have been buying books to learn other styles of embroidery, but have been having a hard time getting going. In part, this is because I had a lot of decisions to make and lots of pulls on my time. What type of fabric, floss, hoops do I need? How do I design a sampler for myself? This takes a lot of the detailed decision making and gets it out of the way for you. I like the quality of the fabric, the floss provided seems as nice as I'm used to for cross-stitch. Needles, trimmers, needle threaders are all provided so they are right at your finger tips and you can just get going without needing to purchase anything else. The quality of the plastic hoop provided is very nice. I've not used one made quite like that before, but it has ridged edge to help lock the hoop in place. This will be great when you are concentrating on anything challenging and forget that you have a death grip on your fabric. It's not likely to easily pop your frame loose. That used to happen to me a lot when I was learning cross stitch.I also find it helpful to have lines drawn on the material (they will wash out). It helps me get a sense of the spacing of each stitch and also brings to my attention how difficult it can be to aim the needle in such a way that you stitch a nice straight line. Because I do counted cross-stich, I have no experience drawing on my fabrics, but now I can see the benefit to having a guideline and will think about tracing paper or wash-out ink for projects I might wind up designing myself or pulling from pattern books. I imagined that this was something the more experienced stitchers must do freehand, but I can see that would be very, very hard and I do this to relax, not drive myself crazy. What's really impressive is the QR codes that link to instructional youtube videos. I tried another kit like this and had to track down videos on my own when I felt uncertain that I was understanding the directions. What's even better here, is that they show you on the same project. So you can literally mimic what the person is doing. You don't have to make sense of it and figure out how to apply it to what it's front of you. They are showing you exactly how it's done. No translation of ideas needed.I'd also like to say that the artwork is nice enough that you might want to put your sampler on display. The first kit I tried was very simple with a lot of white space. That seemed very good for a first try. There was nothing intimidating and no visual clutter. This has little images with the basic runs of stitches so that you can try something pictorial right away and it just makes the sampler more charming right from the get go. Still at that, I'm happy I chose a very simple one to get going, because I was rather intimidated, but I'm thrilled to have this as a second chance for practicing stitches and will most likely hang them in my sewing room because they are so charming. This is a great learning tool that has completely eliminated the overwhelm of learning something new when you have limited time to dedicate to getting your head around things. It's built my confidence tremendously to practice with kits and this is an extremely nice one!

Missing thread
This looks like a good idea for learning embroidery stitches but there was only 5 colors of embroidery floss. So disappointed!

Great starter needle point kits
I really like this needle point set. There is a set of three very basic, learning projects, that consists of the various stitches to learn, plus a small picture project (floral, mushrooms) in the center of the learning stitches. Then there is a separately packaged kit that doesn’t have the learning stitches and is just the pretty little wildflower design, on a black background. In the kits there is all the floss you will need, as well as very detailed instructions in full colour. The printed canvases, a full pack of embroidery needles, small scissor snips, needle threaders, a thread picker and two hoops. So the kits have everything you need to start and finish the projects.I’m not a beginner at needlework, but I like simple projects since I struggle with stiff hands due to arthritis and these are fun and relaxing to work on.

Good Learning Set
This is a nice learning set of kits to learn embroidery. It's actually a set of four kits, but as pictured, only three of the four are teaching kits, one is a project where you put together everything you learned. The set is nicely put together, and is a decent learning set for various embroidery stitches. The final project is a nice touch to give you something else to work on, and to put the various stitches into practice. The learning projects -- labeled 1 through 3, as you learn stitches as you go along -- are packaged together. The sheets are together, and the cloths with the printed project outlines are all together. With them is one shared floss comb, and a pack of needles. (Happily) The separate project kit is just that -- separate, with it's on printed cloth and labelled floss set.The basic instructions are good, with clear pictures and listed instructions. If you have done any embroidery or stitching before you should be able to put the stitches together from the instructions, or you can probably find an online guide if you need one for further clarification. You work through the three learning kits in sequence, and then move on to the cumulative project. You have everything in the set to complete all four projects -- besides the kits themselves, you have a cutting blade and a couple needle threaders, and a seam reaper. The set also comes with a pack of milliner's needles, but those are really only useful for French knots and bullion stitches, they're not really appropriate for your everyday embroidery, being much longer, and thinner than most embroidery needles, with much smaller eyes. This is the second kit I've seen recently with these milliner's needles, and I'm not entirely sure why they're being included with these kits. I did look them up specifically, and while they can be useful for specialty knots, they really aren't embroidery needles for embroidery. Thankfully, this set of kits also includes a set of embroidery needles to use. It's a nice set, and have attractive projects with lots of interesting and useful stitches to learn -- and use. If you're learning embroidery, or want to practice some basic stitches, this is a nice set to get!

Easy to use.
This was a fun little kit. It came with everything needed to complete the project. It was easy to follow. Great for beginners. I feel it was worth the price. The embroidery thread was easy to use.
