Anusol is the best. However, it is only to be used for 7 days, because it can make the skin around your anus - thinner. Also, when you insert the nozzle into your back passage it collects germs and the next time you insert the nozzle you are in fact inserting germs, so please bear this fact in mind..!I’ve had surgery for a fissure and internal piles and only wish to say the latter returned and it was down to me to find a way forward which causes little discomfort. I've done this and managed to forget about the hell surgery caused me.Fibre is everything but you can do a lot more!1) Drink Fibre Gel Orange - morning and night, preferably after a meal.2) Spread 2 Spoonful's of Natural Bran on Weetabix/ Porridge etc each day. Stir this in well before you eat it.3) Every evening take two (2) Bisacodyl Tablets. These are small stool softeners which are both safe and they do work.4) Buy a Sitz bath, add Epsom Salts, sit on it twice a day for 15 minutes. This eases internal soreness & brings comfort.5) Buy a Folding Toilet Stool. this will make certain you are always seated correctly when using the Loo which is vital.Trying to cure anything internal is almost impossible for obvious reasons. if only we could see up our butt it would make us feel a little easier. But we can make things a lot worse by not caring for our body, so follow my advice, then time, patience and perseverance will bring a comfort to you too. This ointment is difficult to get hold of locally and its expensive. This is really good value so I will probably buy more. Would recommend.

This product is designed to keep you hooked and will lead to itching that can be reduced by buying more of it so after alot of suffering this was my solution:1.tried Fybogel-no good for me.2.Encreased Fiber intake and drunk 3 l water/day - big mistake- led to encreased stool size and fissure caused by fruit skins and spinach which became like a glass - damaging the fissure each bowel movement.3. took Dulcoease 5 a day for 2 weeks - a little helpful but still constipated and kept bleeding with each bowel movement.4.Finally started no fiber food and elimination diet: ate only instant maize poridge, eggs for a week - this reduced the stool size and no more glassy stool but still not soft enough.5.Started lactulose 15ml twice a day-worked miracles after two days and still working to makes the stool like silk and doesnt get absorbed by the body. Although it gave me alot of gas but that is small price and it settled after a week.6.stopped the Anusol products and used neosporin ointment (from USA, couldn't find in UK) which helped clear the fissure and the itching.7.update: stopped Lactulose due to gas and bloating and started movicol twice a day. seems to be more effective and no gas and bloating.

Handy to have in medicine cupboard if pain strikes unexpectedly.
