Work Well
I had a different pair, and they ended up breaking. So far these seem a little more sturdy, and they have an extra strap than my previous ones, so I believe these will not fail in the same place. Only knock and this is not against this product in particular, but they are not the easiest to use. Im in Georgia, and most of my yard is hard packed red clay... sometimes the spikes don't go in very far, or hit a rock, so you have to be very careful, additionally sometimes it will pull larger sections of dirt out instead on making a clean hole - wouldn't be bad if it was not in an established lawn... All in all, I still use these occasionally to help - this does not replace the need to core aerate once per year, I use this as a filler in between on the weaker spots in my yard, and areas that do not drain as well

So its okay....
Reading the other comments and most were confirmed: my feet do come out of the straps, it can pull large chunks of mud/grass.Regarding the straps, they are huge. I am going to cut them and try and adjust. I have big feet for a woman (size 10) and they are wide. These are even big for my feet.Regarding the chunks, I noticed the chunks came out in particularly muddy or bald areas. With that said i ended up using one shoe only on one foot and walked around my yard (lines up and down). I think it did a fine job. I have a very small yard so it's not much of a walk. I wanted to aerate so i could add some seed. I think it did the trick. Definitely needs tweaking but I am going to keep it and will use again.

Be careful when using; could be hard on your knees
These are tough to keep on my shoes given the forces involved in repeatedly entering the soil and withdrawing even in softer soils. They do seem to aerate well and it's a lot easier to do than renting a core aerator. BUT...beware that when the spikes are planted into the soil if you suddenly need to twist or move you've lost your pivot point at the bottom of your shoes as you are locked into the ground. The pivot point becomes your knee. Not a good thing. As I was aerating with these a couple of weeks ago our neighbor's very friendly Labrador retriever came bounding up unbeknownst to me from my side barreling into to me as he likes to when we a playing but this time my feet were locked into the lawn. Fortunately the spikes gave way before my knee did but it was close. It caused a mild sprain; so my advice is to be very careful when using these and realize that your feet are locked into the ground for repeated brief periods of time while using. This could be problematic if you need to move quickly or are forced to twist or pivot suddenly. Shouldn't happen often but it could be very painful if it does. Would not use if you have prior knee problems.

Silly miracle shoes! Love
I didn’t realize you would have to assemble them. The needles were so easy to figure out how to put in. But I honestly have no idea if I put the straps on right. When I started to use the shoes my feet slid around a bit so I just added a couple knots here and there to really tighten my shoes to the aeration shoes and then I was good. I felt a little silly walking around like that but it worked sooooo well!!! I put a comparison photo that is less than 4 weeks apart for the difference. The actual first photo was awhile back but it is how it looked 4 weeks ago if that makes sense. My grass is now greener than my neighbors! I would definitely suggest using these..... I may have to add the photo later since I do not see an option to add a photo here. TBD

Use with caution
Try to imagine walking in a pair of sandals with ten 2 inch nails in each shoe. The strapping system uses polyester straps with metal clamping clips, but I couldn't --- for the life of me --- keep these things on my feet. I will say this: I used them in a small area of bare ground in my lawn for the sole purpose of getting grass seed submerged in the soil, and to my surprise, it did help get grass started. Otherwise, I would have just as soon wanted to get a tool with spikes that can roll over an area in much less time. But a good tool costs more.

Worked great - got the job done.
These aerator shoes were good for the money. Needed to freshen up the grass in the yard before reseeding this Spring. The shoes stayed on and got the job done. It would have helped if the straps were shorter as the ends did get in the way a bit at times after they were tightened while trying to walk around, but overall easy to use, easy to assemble, and stayed on without any problems.

Exceeded expectations
I don't often write reviews. These were great for the $11 bucks I spent. I had previously planted 2000 sq ft of new grass and on my second seeding obviously I didn't want to rip it all up. These fit the bill, yes a few times it pulled up some chunks but it was mostly on bare dirt and it didn't' happen on mature areas of my lawn. Generally speaking this did exactly what I wanted, it made a bunch of holes that my seeds fell into. I don't see any reason to pay more for another brand, they fit and worked well. I do think it would be cool if they sold additional 'spike' sets with varying widths and depths but the spikes are universal and I am sure I could get other sizes at the hardware store if I wanted to invest the effort (which I may). None the less, happy with the purchase.

Straps do not stay tight
The original straps are worthless. After taking maybe 3 steps they get loose and the aerators fall off. The spikes themselves do a good job spearing into the ground to aerate but I finally got annoyed enough to drill holes into an old pair of sneakers and zip tie them on and now I can actually move around without them falling off. I think it needs a sleeve or something that zips over your shoe sobit actually stays in place.
