Needs sharpening
Got it to shear my Border Collie and the fir clogged the blades. Will try sharpening to see if it helps.

Works well
This is a sturdy, all metal device. Mine came slightly misassembled out of the box. It was pulling hair more than cutting it. Looking at it for a few seconds I could see that the sliding part of the blade was misaligned with the clamp/handle. It took about 30 seconds to fix this. The clippers are held together by a wingnut, and really easy to dissassemble/reassemble. As another reviewer noted, the included attachment does not fit on these clippers. A web search for the same item showed an attachment with clips on either side that would, in theory, make it work. The useless attachment is the only reason I deducted a star.Once assembled correctly, it cut both my arm hair(fine) and beard(coarse) with ease.

Good but not great
They are well built and a great alternative to an electric shear. But I bought it to remove matted fur from my cat who hates the electric clippers. But the comb is fine and the fur won't pass into the cutters. Should work great for normal hair but for pet grooming, not so much.

Did not work with long hair shepards
Was trying to trim up my dogs for the summer, I couldn't get it into the fur. It may just be that their hair is too thick. I have had this kind of issue with other fur cutting tools due to the undercoat the dogs have. I think it would work for dogs without thick coats.

independence
Just like I remember and works even when our electricity doesn't.

Abject Crud, Garbage, barely suitable as scrap metal.
Made in Pakistan, this is the worst piece of garbage I have ever experienced from any seller. They don't work, does not cut or trim at all. These "Clippers" were so dirty out of the box it was incredible. Fouled with dirty dark oil and baked on crud (inside). Terrible. To me these looked to be hand made by an untrained apprentice, irregular, poor quality workmanship. Did I mention filthy dirty? They MIGHT work if your hair is stiff like pig bristle, otherwise... forget it.If you want a set pinchers rather than cutters these are the item you need. And yes I carefully adjusted them for ease of operation. These deserve ZERO stars. My best advice is to acquire a vintage set of similar clippers made in the U.S.A. Even if fifty (or more) years old.

Use it for my hair and beard and love it!
This is an awesome tool I really enjoy it. I needed to remove the black spring washer under the tightening wing-nut in order to tighten it properly after I did that it works like a charm. I love it and I recommend it as a quiet alternative to power clippers.
