Write and Draw Your Own Comics (Write Your Own) Spiral-bound – July 2, 2024

This book is awesome for my little artist ❤️

I now have two of these books. I bought one for my son, and my other son was so enthralled with it, I bought him one too! This book does a great job giving creative prompts and teaching HOW to make the different parts of the comic strip. This book is really sturdy too! It is designed for kids to be able to carry it around without damaging it through normal "kid use."

First I ordered a blank comic strip book for my 10 year old nephew but it was so dauntingly blank and gave no clues as to how to get started. This one though is perfect. The first sections are devoted to easy drawing tips, with practice boxes; then there is info on creating characters and dialogue, with practice boxes, and by the latter half of the book, there are the blank pages where the imagination can turn loose. There are stickers in the back to use if wanted, like ones that say "POW!" or "Groan" or "Whooa!" It looks very engaging and exciting for a kid to explore his or her artistic and storytelling possibilities!

I bought this for my 9-year-old, artistic, comic-loving boy. It looks like a lot of fun, and he is very excited to use it for our upcoming homeschool year. It looks like a great way to make writing more fun and engaging, especially for those kids who may not particularly like writing. It definitely seems more geared toward elementary-middle school age.

This made a terrific gift for my comic-creating kid!

We have now bought two of these for our 10 year old son! HE LOVES THEM! The book gives prompts and ideas, but also allows lots of creativity. It is perfect for a child just beginning in writing stories or wanting to explore the world of writing comics. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up buying him a couple more of these with as much as he loves them! He said that one of his favorite things about them is that they help him to write better stories and comics. Those little prompts and pointers really do make a difference! And he works so hard to make his writing look great and that has helped his penmanship!

We got this for my sons 9th birthday. He absolutely loves it and hasn’t put it down since it arrived. Really neat and I think a great gift for any comic/art lover. I was a little sad that the shipping took FOREVER but the product was what we were hoping.

I have to say, I am impressed with the quality. Maybe my expectations were low, but we are very pleased with this purchase! We absolutely love the 'tutorial' bit in the front. Very informative! My 10-year-old and I are plotting out our first story together. Would definitely recommend to anyone with an interest, or a kid into comics, superheroes, storytelling, or art.
