Q: How is the learning curve on this monitor? Some of them are a bit much to figure out..

The learning curve is super fast, assuming you understand the functions and you already use them in your workflow. For example, if you already use SLog3 and Rec709 3D lookup tables, the implementation of these in this monitor takes about 20 seconds to learn. If you don't understand the functions already, start using them in Premiere Pro or FinalCut Pro, then when you're knowledgeable, take the 20s to enable them in the monitor. The same goes for any of the other functions.

Q: Will this be ok if I attach this to the side or top of a ronin gimbal?

Yes, you can do this, for sure, as long as you mount it to the handle, and don't have it on the gimbal. (Although the gimbal part of the RONIN-S can handle the weight, the range of motion of the camera would be reduced, so there's no sense in having the monitor mounted to the camera itself.)
