I have recently come to the end of a course of Invisalign and been given more sturdy retainers to wear at night. I didn’t struggle to get the Invisalign out but the retainers are much harder and come right onto the gum line. I really struggle to get them out and they’ve been stuck a couple of times and it’s panicked me that I can’t get them out!I really hoped that this would be the solution but sadly found that the plastic ‘hook’ on the end is too thick to get a grip on the retainer. I’ve tried it at different points along my gum but to no avail. I guess it has to be a certain thickness so that it isn’t sharp and damages the gum.I have tried it on the Invisalign and it worked perfectly well. It’s much better than having to put your fingers in your mouth to get the tray out.So it’s good and bad, and will depend on the type of retainer you have and how tightly it fits.
