Love my Lomi!
I found the instructions a little unclear so had initial trouble with running it. I couldn't tell which cycle it was on because of all the lights and how to push the button exactly right. So it didn't seem to be working! Now I've figured it out, I LOVE my Lomi! I so hated throwing out all organic stuff like coffee grounds etc but found it impossible in an apartment to get compost to work, even with Bokashi. So I'm thrilled to get lovely dry, clean compost now! I did get the pods to help with the process. The machine was fairly quiet, with occasional odd grunts, but I just shut the kitchen door and let it run all night without it disturbing us in the least. It was all done the next morning. So easy and SO satisfying!

Works well
My 2nd one. Easy to use. Love to be able to compost and put the contents in my garden.

Tweaking the proportion of kitchen waste to accelerator tablets
So far, very happy with the purchase. I use the fertilizer type setting once or twice a week using kitchen waste. I had some trouble with the quality of output in the beginning, but since I started using two tablets in the mix, the results have been outstanding. I gave it a four star because the instructions were not very clear as to the proportion of waste to tablets. Also the waste has to be pretty dry for a satisfactory product. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase because it has helped to reduce kitchen waste almost by 40%.

A HUGE HOUSE HOLD ADD - Worth every penny
I have tried to do composting for almost 2 years now, every single try have failed in every possible way. I saw a video of this on Isntagram and went to give it a try and I cannot be happier. Everything you put in there (make sure it's on the list of stuff you can) is well processed and without any smell issues. I have it on my kitchen next to the counter so I just put what I scrap there and at the end of the day put it on eco mode.Eco mode is so cheap, the light bill only increased around $1.25 a month and it does the same job as the other modes. Also, important to mention that if you see that something is not well processed in Eco mode, just put some new stuff in and put run it again, doesn't cause any issues. The auto cleaning mode is amazing, just add water and it takes care of itself. If you life in the middle of the city of a town in where you cannot have a compost thing far from your house where the smell will get you, this is the best possible device for you.

Great machine
Very happy with it so far. We are only using the "grow" cycle so far, so we can use it in our garden. That cycle doesn't get as hot, though, so we did have to add extra enzymes and also run it through a second time to get the desired output. In fairness, I put cantaloupe rind and pineapple peel in there, along with celery and some thin mandarin orange peels; everything was in small pieces, but still pretty tough stuff. Going forward, I think I'll skip the pineapple peel for the garden and maybe save that for the higher temp cycle. Excellent, user-friendly machine and directions. I have it in a little cubby off the kitchen, so we don't even hear it running; it's pretty quiet, though, anyway. The "grow" cycle takes a long time...about 16-20 hours. The hotter cycles are much faster. It just depends on how you want to use the output.

Disappointed – Same Issue as Cheaper Models
This is the second kitchen composter I’ve purchased, and I had high hopes for the Lomi given its higher price point and strong branding. Unfortunately, it has the same recurring issue as my previous (cheaper) unit: after nearly every cycle, a hard, stuck-on layer of food residue forms at the bottom, making it tedious to clean after each use.I followed the guidelines carefully and experimented with different food combinations (green + brown), but the issue persists. For a premium-priced product, I expected better design or self-cleaning capabilities to prevent this kind of buildup. The composter works in terms of reducing food waste, but the daily scrubbing takes away a lot of the convenience.I really wanted to love the Lomi, but for now, I’m not sure it justifies the investment.

good product
I've owned mine now for about two weeks. It makes a very nice, fine, rich soil from your kitchen waste. The unit is very soft, about the same as a modern dishwasher, just an even low hum. But most of the time it is entirely quiet because you only run it when its bucket is full of kitchen waste, maybe a couple of times a week. You can run it at night and never hear it. It's easy to use - just plug it in, press the main button twice since the default setting works great, and you're done.
