It actually works
I was buying a fan for my VR headset when I saw this in recommends, and honestly I was a bit skeptical. I knew Noctua makes great computer fans (I have them in many PCs I've built in the last 15+ years), I have their CPU coolers as well. I've bought the 5V ones to replace ones in network routers. But a desk fan?Past experiences: I've tried using a PC fan to use on desktop before (Noctua too) and it was very subpar experience. The airflow simply wasn't there. I have used many other USB fans, usually either poor airflow or extremely loud. I have a Dyson Hot+Cool I use for my whole desk area but I have sweaty hands and arms so something to cool a small focus location has been something I've been hunting for. This product: It's a little expensive at first glance but the workmanship shows it was built to last. Very innovative mounting options. I have not tried any of the screws or magnetic options. Mine is mounted on a cylindrical camera arm with zip-ties that's above my monitor and it's pointed down at my hands and arms. Hasn't moved since I installed it. I have it turned at full force all day so my arms and hands stay cool without worrying about it blowing at my face and drying my eyes (and contacts); and I do not hear it at all. I use desktop speakers so that's a nice experience. The plastic contraption they designed does direct all the airflow into one small spot, I can actually feel the breeze.Concerns/suggestions for Noctua: (1) Comes with a lot of accessories to give variety of options but also seems they used some existing products for computer building; for example the speed controller is this tiny thing with a little speed adjustment bud with PWM 4-pin connectors on two ends, like some speed controller you could install in a PC tower and never touch again. This should have been bigger with a bigger knob on it for my desk use, and some re-enforcement (like clip or lock) of some kind for the connectors too. (2) While they included so many power connection options I wish the cables weren't so long or maybe have multiple shorter lengths you can just connect together. And the connectors are just standard PWM connectors meaning they are also just as likely to be pulled apart. I don't like that on a desk product. (3) It came with a fan grill but what would have been better is a fan filter. Yes there is more airflow obstruction with a fan filter but you have to consider on the outside of the PC case environment the air is more dusty and therefore likely the fan blades will get dirtier faster. I replaced the fan grill with one of these SilverStone (B07YYZTB8T) filters (bought back in 2020 so good quality).~Overall very happy with this Noctua desk fan. Yes the price is higher than many options but my Noctua CPU heatsinks all been working for years and years, so I expect this one to work as well for years to come.

Probably too expensive, but I like it anyways
I kind of picked this up on a lark. I live in Las Vegas, so of course my office is hotter than I like. I've gone through a number of desk fans because I tend to buy kind of cheap ones and they eventually just break in a way that they become noisey. When I saw the Noctua announcement of these I figured it'd be worth a shot.I'm really surprised how well it works. At max speed it's moving way more air than any cheap fans I've had in the past and is significantly quieter. At that speed it's so much air flow it's actually uncomfortable because I can feel my eyes drying up.Ultimately, $100 is too much to spend on a desk fan, but at the end of the day it's a Noctua. I trust I can leave it running 24/7 and this fan will keep going for years. Even when it does eventually break... it's just a regular Noctua fan so I can replace it easily.

Wish they didn’t ship with vibration dampeners installed
This is a quite little desk fan, up to noctuas fan standards, it moves air. Quietly.I would give this product 5 stars, but it came pre assembled, with the rubber fan mounts with a break off pin in them, removing the fan from the box, I broke 2 of the 4 breakoff pins, and removed the fan, luckily, I was going to remove them and attach them with standard fan screws(included)anyway or I would have been disappointed. It is also overpriced for what it is, but if your buying noctua, you know are paying for noctua quality.

Quiet and Versatile
Easily the most quiet desk fan I've used. It does come at a price premium, however if you take into account longevity, it may be worth it to some. The power adapter, fan, mount, shroud, as well as speed controller may all be purchased separately later, if something were to fail. The 6 year warranty is already most than similar products.I think this really shines if you have a niche location/situation where you'd like a quiet fan. I'm using this at my desk, magnetically attached to an old adjustable monitor arm, so I can angle it perfectly at my hands, body (sweaty hands). It makes zero noise about 3 feet away but cools well. At max speed, you can feel airflow about 9-10 ft away. I however, would not recommend to circulate a full room. This works best if you're looking to cool a small specific area. I can see it being helpful for soldering stations as those tend to get hot. The magnets are very strong too, there's no way it'll fall off itself.

MARVELOUS FAN - HORRIBLE CABLES - BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS
The fan itself is marvelous. High quality, industrial design, and virtually silent. The cabling is horrible. All the connections are slip fit, without any locking mechanism. The connections disconnect with the slightest pressure.Since the fan is pretty much useless without the cables, this is an overall fail. Not recommended.

High Price for exact design
This is exactly what I was looking for, for my specific purpose. I wanted a fan that will sit on my desk, 3-5 feet away that I can direct across my head/upper torso that won't blow papers on my desk, won't be heard by people sitting around me, and can be dialed in to the exact speed I want to balance how hot I feel.Pros:Tight air streamWhisper quietVariable speed for exact airflow wantedCan anchor to just about anything (Screws, magnets, zip ties)Cons:Price (obviously)No off switch, don't know if it can just be left plugged in at min speed where fan isn't spinning
