I have been using Blue Buffalo for my dachshund for almost three years. This is the first time I've bought from Amazon, which with Prime shipping, this totally beats driving 45 minutes to pay the same price. There are people out there that either love this brand or hate it with a passion. My wife is a DVM (Dr. of Veterinary Medicine) and I was using this product before we even met. I figured she'd set me straight if this was not good for my dog, but she didn't. I refused to let my dachshund become one of those fat wiener dogs, so I thought some preventative maintenance was in order. This food has kept her in good health as well as maintained a nice shiny coat. I did a lot of research concerning dog food before I got the dog, so I advise you to do the same. Don't make the mistake in buying generic dog food because it's cheap. Even my wife will attest to the fact that store brand dog food is junk. Would you eat fast food for every single meal, every day of the week, every week of the year? Then why feed your dog the same? What ever money you think you're saving in dog food, you will pay out exponentially more in vet bills because you're dog is in bad health from what you've been feeding it. Maybe Blue Buffalo isn't for you, but find something quality that fits your dogs needs and fork over the extra $5-$10 a bag.

I have fed this food to 2 of my dogs. They both liked it. It kept their weight good. I recently tried switching my dog to the senior dog food. I transitioned it by mixing both of dog food. When I put him only on the senior food it didn’t agree with him. When I put him back on the healthy weight food and he was fine.

I have 2 Maltese who are "festively plump" and need good nutrition with limited calories and this Blue Buffalo Healthy Weight meets their needs. Although I haven't tasted the flavor myself, my dogs eat it eagerly so I assume the flavor is good! The price is within most budgets and, since dry dog food has a long shelf life, the large bag is appropriate even for small dogs.
