I’ve been through my share of bread slicing guides over the last few years and I was never able to find something that really met my needs short of buying something electric or a hand crank. This slicer is the absolute most fantastic one I’ve had of all of them. The stainless steel uprights are spaced at approximately 1/2 inch intervals and alternate the height between each upright. That helps you match your knives when you’re slicing your bread. It actually has two backstops to hold your bread securely as your slicing. I used it for the first time and I had the most perfect slices ever. My only caveat is that the uprights initially are very hard to get into the channels. I use the backstops on top of the uprights and had to use my hand to get them down into the channels. It was just a little tight. In order to get the uprights out of the channels I did have to use a flathead screwdriver to pry them up. I am absolutely sure that with a few uses these backstops should be easier to use. However, I did reach out to the company and they are sending me another bread slicing guide, I still give a five star and would recommend anybody to buy this one. It is well-made bamboo cutting board is actually mostly protected when you’re slicing your bread as well. It does come with a slicing knife, which is pretty good, but I prefer my extra long and use that as well , easy to clean as very sturdy drawstring bag to store. Definitely recommend purchasing this one.

This bread slicer works great.Pros: The metal prongs were a better idea than wood, as I'm slicing against them each time. They won't splinter like wood would. It's easy to get a pretty even slice. The different options for bread width is great and fits a regular loaf of bread well. The knife works well so far. The carrying bag is great to keep it altogether.Cons:The length of it is short, so it doesn't fit the length of a loaf, and you have to slice about 3/4 of the loaf, remove it, them slice the remaining 1/4. I've had to adjust a prong since it bent, causing an uneven cut. The wood base seems like it might not last significantly long, it feels a little cheap and rough, but I haven't had issues with it yet.

Product is easy to put together and clean. It made slicing homemade bread easier and into decent sandwich slices. I wish it was a little bit sturdier as sometimes the side pieces pop up when cutting but it hasn't really caused a big issue. Perfect for the price and also comes with a bread knife that works great.

While it's fun to pull apart certain types of bread, sometimes you just want a sandwich! This lets you do that with the output of your breadmaker. It's easy to assemble and will snug up against the loaf. Guiding your knife -- and the one that's included is a good one -- you can make thin or thick slices. Afterwards, pack it up in the cotton bag and it doesn't clutter up the kitchen.Looks good, works well, and it cleans up easily. And it's wood and metal because we're all sick of plastic!

Was so excited to get this bread slicer. I made a fresh loaf of sourdough. For the slicer all set up and it slide around everywhere the plastic back boards you can put your loaf against move and slice around and seemed unless. It took one person trying to hold the slicer and back board still, and another to cut the bread. Very disappointed with this item to say the last. Yes it looks nice and feels sturdy but when it comes to the ease of use. It is not worth the money or time it took. Feel like I will be putting in for a return on this item.

First, the good: this bread slicer guide works really well. I’m a real hack with slicing bread and this guide eliminates that problem. And it is solidly built - I expect it to last for quite some time.Now the bad. The knife is too short, frequently slipping out of the metal guides. I’ll be upgrading to a longer bread knife. And while the kit overall is solid, the wood base is soft. I was disappointed to see small cuts in the wood after the first use. I plan to protect the wood with a small cutting board when slicing.So overall, this is the best slicing guide I’ve found. But it could be better.

Finally a bread slicer guide that doesn't chip bits of wood nor plastic from using serrated knives. This bread slicer needed just a few hammer taps to place the guides in the base. Yet tight is a very helpful feature. Basically, it is exactly what I was looking for. It holds the bread firmly. I can cut thin, uniform slices of homemade wheat bread or thicker slices if needed. It is solid, doesn't slide all over the counter top and is very user friendly. It is my third try at finding something usable, so am finally satisfied.
