True to promise
Works great for my outdoor cats, not that they ever chose to use it 😋 They prefer laying on top to going inside, but I think if it were truly too hot, they would seek refuge inside. The ice packs worked great.

Totally Disappointing
I purchased originally for outdoor use and ended up keeping inside for my indoor cats who loved the cave like atmosphere.BUT just recently as weather changed to chilly & rainy I put outside for my couple of outdoor crew.Found out that this is NOT water resistant or water proof. After some rain that we had the shelter was wet inside along with the bedding I added.Total waste if anyone purchasing for outdoor use.

Cat House is not waterproof
If you are going to put the cat house out in the elements I would not recommend it. The product seems to be well made but it is not waterproof if placed out in the elements. Would probably work fine if placed under a covered porch, patio or garage. i have had to use waterproof tape and tarps to cover it but still continue to have issues with it getting wet inside. Advertising that it is waterproof and snow proof is misleading. I should have purchased something different.

Comes with extra pieces. Look CAREFULLY at the directions - especially for the base construction.
Overall it is nice and appears like it will probably last a pretty long time. The fabric construction is solid, the Velcro strips are wide and grip fairly well - some of them are placed in a way that doesn't allow them to really grip extremely well, but they're likely more than adequate. This comes with extra pieces - 1each extra white corner bracket, extra black corner bracket, extra white long rod, extra black long rod. On one hand, when I get extra parts I wonder, "why? Do they expect them to fail?" and on the other hand the parts that are included are the once that enable replacement of any structural frame element...even if one might have to cut the long rod to a shorter length as needed.Look CAREFULLY at the directions AND think about how it could go together - especially for the base construction. It's not obvious that the black rods go into pockets on the cloth piece for the base. I had all of the rods together and then realized I had to take them all apart again in order to feed them through the pockets in the cloth base. Not a problem, just annoying to have to re-do the step because the instructions were not clear to me.Overall, this looks pretty reasonable. I haven't tried the "ice packs" and wonder if I ever will. I actually might as this weekend and next week are supposed to be hot 90+F and the cat house is in the sun.BTW, the external cloth surface is green, while the inside is metalized to reflect the heat, and there may be some extra cloth/insulation between them as the walls are a bit stiffer than I'd expect from just cloth an metalize Mylar. The "front door" has an elastic loop in the corner that is meant to hook to the button above the door. I had to futz with it to get it to stay. I find it interesting that there is also an exit hole in the floor...which is why the cat house sits up on the platform stand.

Cute
I haven’t seen any of my feral cats use the inside of this for the summer, but it’s cute and easy to put together. My ferals like to lay on top of it. The bottom doesn’t feel like it could hold a lot of weight. You do have to freeze the ice packs every day to keep it cool inside. I also put a cooling pad at the bottom. My major complaints are that this isn’t meant for a large cat. The hole to enter and the hole at the bottom are too small, especially the emergency exit hole.

If your cat likes to hang out in insulated lunch bags, they're gonna love this!
I admit I was a little taken aback when I got this little kitty condo. Despite having read the description, I don't know what I was expecting when it said 'pet cooling', so having little pockets in the sidewalls to insert frozen icepaks like you would for your lunch kit was not a novelty I was expecting. I don't know if I need to read more closely, or go back to school for reading comprehension. Possibly some of both. Anyway. The cat condo went together quickly and easily - if you've assembled one of those 'dog sling' type beds, you'll quickly get the idea. Everything was pretty well labeled and the instruction sheet was fairly clear on top of that. Inside the main tent area, it's made of the aluminum lined cloth just like you'd see inside of a cold bag, which makes me worry a little bit for its sturdiness (my cats are quite clawed, thanks, and have sharp and pointy feet), but the outside fabric seems very sturdy and water resistant. There's also two entrances - one on the bottom like a bolt hole for your sneaky felines and one on the side for the bolder sort. If you do have shelters like this outside for your pets (or for barn or feral colonies) it's always a great idea to give them more than one egress just in case of trouble! The whole top flips open as well, so you can keep it wiped clean inside, then can be Velcroed down for security and to keep other critters out. It even comes with tent stakes to keep your kitty condo where it belongs! And having high legs is great because it gives your cats outdoors an extra shady spot with lots of fresh air.If I have any concerns, they are these. There is a LOT of plastic in the legs and structure of this. It wouldn't take much to accidentally break it. Additionally, as I've already mentioned, the reflective material inside doesn't feel as tough as the outer liner, so I worry it will get damaged/torn. And I'm not sure if my cats are going to want to lay on icepaks, as my cats usually prefer to toast themselves to crispy kitty bacon at the slightest provocation -- but over all, I think this is a pretty good product!
