DysonV12 Detect Slim Absolute Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

This is a replacement of the unit we bought 10+ years ago. It is so versatile and we find that it has become one of those ‘must have’ tools for the house.

Great for hard wood floors

Works great and is light .

Have been pleased with the vacuum. Light weight, seems to clean well.The only con is when emptying the dirt, you have to reach up in the container to get remaining debris.Overall pleased.

Love it so much bought one for my daughter

Ran on medium speed for about 10 minutes and the battery died, . I had it fully charged. Not worth the money

A friend bought this & I opened, fully charged & used it all around her house. I love a Dyson cordless stick vac, but this is not one that I’d personally pick for a house with pet hair.The good: great Dyson suction. Excellent filtering. Charged up fast. Button to turn on & turn off is handy vs the trigger models. This is the lightest Dyson stick vac I have used to date. Holds the charge really well - I vacuumed 2 floors of wood, tile & area rug and there was still 80% charge left. This vacuum sucked up multiple dust cup capacities of dust & dog hair from rugs that had been already vacuumed (by what we knew was an inferior vacuum). I used the brush roller, & no other attachments.The bad: the brush roller stopped on every area rug, except very very smooth & flat ones, requiring a turn off & turn on to restart it. The brush roller is very sensitive to texture changes - even though the height of any rug pile I vacuumed was not very high. The dust cup capacity is also very small because this vac is so slim, so I had to empty it a few times during my vacuuming. Emptying the cup was not quick or easy - dog hair became compressed around the deepest part of the cup, requiring a flat instrument to fish it out.If I’m spending $400+ on a vacuum, even with the lightness, compactness, & excellent Dyson suction of this model, I would still choose a larger & heavier Dyson model with a bigger dust cup capacity.If you are a non-pet household, or really need something extra lightweight, this would serve you better.

The vacuum works great on the normal setting, but unfortunately, the dustbin has been misaligned since I received it as a Christmas gift. It’s been difficult to detach from day one, and dealing with Dyson customer service has been frustrating. After 1.5 months of back-and-forth, they’ve finally agreed to send me a replacement. However, I have to package and return my old vacuum (with all parts) for inspection, and they estimate it will take 18 days after they receive it before they send a replacement. This means I’ll likely be without the vacuum for nearly another month, and my warranty doesn’t reset - all of which is extremely frustrating given the price point. At this point, I regret not returning it entirely and buying a different model.
