Color:Blueberry Very nicely desgined with a ridge to hold the knife in place. 3 3/4 inches by 6 inches by 2 1/4 inches. How well your butter fits the butter dish will depend on the brand of butter you use. The inside ridge that is under the lid will hold a butter stick that is 4 inches long x 1-5/8 inches wide. The lid fits on the outside of the ridge and will cover a stick that is 4-1/4 inches long x 1-78 inches wide x 1-3/4 inches high. If the butter you use is longer than 4 inches in length, you may have to remove a small amount from the end of the stick.

Read description carefully; won't fit standard butter sticks
Note that, as the description says, the inner portion is not long enough for sticks of butter longer than 4 inches. The standard "Elgin" butter size used in most of the eastern United States is 4.8 inches long. I suppose it's my own fault for not reading the description more closely (and not researching the length of a stick of butter) before buying this.I do like the appearance and the built-in knife holder. But I'll be grumbling every time I have to cut off a pat of butter before putting a stick into this dish.

Nice design.
Good finishing. No problems or imperfections. Liked it. The little knife fits on a small crevice along the edge of the tray.

A little too short.
I like the dish, but it is too short for a regular sick of butter. Also, the knife handle is so small, my husband and I found that it is hard to hang on to while trying to spread the butter.

Best butter dish ever!
I never thought I would spend this much for a butter dish, but I am glad I did. I've been looking for a butter dish that has a way to keep a butter knife as well. This was the answer. Has been wanting something like this for years, and finally found it! I was familiar with Bee House tea pots, but I didn't know they also made butter dish. What a great design. I bought this over 6 months ago. We love it.
