Exactly what I ordered
I grow plants in synthetic soil. I need a time release source of sulfur for my plants. The calcium part is necessary for my epiphytic soil mixture. I can't add calcium carbonate to this soil because epiphytes can't tolerate the higher pH that using calcium carbonate generates. My epiphytes get the calcium that they need from the tap water I use, acidified with about a tablespoon per gallon of (cheap) vinegar. This 5 lb bag of powdered gypsum (calcium sulfate) will last me for ten lifetimes, even though I'm a nut case plant hobbyist. I have more than a thousand potted plants. I use a tablespoon powdered gypsum in a three gallon Cornell University type of soil mix. I'll probably start using it up in my garden. It's a great source of sulfate for those plants. An aside - note the stupid use of the word "organic" in the ad for this gypsum. The Great American con job re "organic" continues to add cost without value. For the record, gypsum is about as "inorganic" as it gets.

Shipped quickly and packaged well
What can you say about gypsum. This brand seems to be good and was shipped quickly and packaged well. I use it to add calcium to my raised beds. I was told that gypsum will provide calcium without raising the PH level as lime will do.I have a hard time keeping my PH below 7 but do have a problem with blossom end rot on my tomatoes, so I need calcium, but don't want to lower the PH.

Works for bottom end rot on tomatoes!
I landed on this product for it's claim regarding bottom end rot, and after researching what appears to be a lack of calcium in the soil. The issue wasn't in my garden (though I now have enough to treat my garden for years to come), but in a patio ready Bush Early Girl planter, that produces in 40 days, and yes I've already eaten several of them including putting the two biggest ones on a 7 layer bean salad.I initially noticed holes appearing in a few tomatoes while they were still green, I cut them off and fried them off after removing the sections in question. Once I got the correct formula for small gardening use, I applied it and got quick results. Only one more tomato got a small spot and is still growing just fine to be picked and consumed shortly.I was a little dismayed when I first got the prouct and the directions were focused on large gardens, so I sent a question off to the seller (which can be done when they're listed as the seller, but not if Amazon is), and got an immediate response with how to use.I sent my message at 6:05 PM on July 11th 2024, and got a reply back by 7:34 AM July 12th,Good Morning KellyFor soil drench, please mix 1 to 2 oz per gallon of water. Please see attached. We are awaiting new bags that will include the soil drench dosage amounts. Many thanks for your support!Cz Garden

I was happy it was sent so promptly. However, I have not had time to put it in my garden yet.The price was much more reasonable than other sources I checked.
