Powerful but a bit awkward
I've used this tool a few times and find it to be very powerful. Though, it is heavy, and a bit awkward to use, due to its overall size, trigger mechanism, and weight. Generally, I had to use two hands to get precise cuts. Nevertheless, it did what I wanted and I'm sure I'll like this tool for future projects.

No Variable-speed
Excellent tool but, the item is listed as one of the features is variable-speed. This item does not have variable-speed.I was looking for a die grinder with variable-speed. I will not go through the return process because its always a pain. Please fix the listing to show 'continuous' speed 20k.

Great tool that should last a long time.
Being a pipe welder I purchased this die grinder to help me prep my pipe on the inside for TIG welding with the use of flapper wheels. I wouldn't say that this grinder has a ton of power but defiantly enough to get the job done. I am glad that I went with the paddle version of this grinder, it is much more comfortable to use especially having larger hands. The tools seems to have an excellent build quality and should last a long time if not abused by putting too much load on it (i.e. let the RPMs do the work for you verses pushing hard on it) Overall I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to a friend.

Good for Porting Heads
I found a recommendation on thesamba.com regarding porting air cooled Volkswagen heads for this tool. It works great for porting heads. Took a little getting used to as I was used to using a Dremel which took at least 3 times as long because the bits are so small and they produce way less torque. This grinder is really torquey. The other advantage to this over an air grinder is there's less noise and your hands won't be frozen by the time you're done.We were in the middle of digging post holes for a fence at my house and the ground after you get down about a foot is rock solid. It's like bedrock. Anyway with a wire wheel on the end of this grinder we were able to dig down another foot into the ground. We ended up with 25 gallons of powdered rock at the end of the day. Next time I'll rent an auger but in a pinch this head porting tool came in handy.

heavy industrial use, not a problem!
As I've said before I'm a pipe fitter, and I can say that I actually use this everyday. It's dedicated use is with a Pferd 6" carbide bit for cleaning spatter out of pipe. Being that it's constantly exposed to grinding dust and welding sparks and it's still going, that's pretty good. Oh yea, I've had it for about a year now. This tool is very quiet, produces very little vibration and has more than enough power for me. Oh yea, one more thing, PAY ATTENTION to the rpm ratings on bits that you use for this!! If you don't it will vibrate badly because the bits cannot stay balanced at 23,000 rpm. So, you'll have to spend extra on bits. Weiler brand grinding stones are about the best you can buy at the local hardware store.
