Sperry Women's Angelfish Varsity Boat Shoe

I have bought several pairs of this exact shoe, and with no change to the listing or web page, Sperry changed the construction of this shoe dramatically. It is pictured as having it's traditional leather insole (bottom image), instead it now comes with a memory foam insert and is lined in an itchy, and very hot felt (top image). In addition to being incredibly uncomfortable, I can't imagine the felt would hold up well when it gets wet... which is somewhat important for a boat shoe. I contacted support to see if there had been a mix-up in fulfilling the order and was told that this was the current style, and there was no way to ensure I got the traditionally constructed shoe, as "inventory is mixed". I'm very dissapointed with both the shoe and response I received.

I caught these bad boys when they were priced down to only $40! One upside to the price fluxuations on amazon.😉 They are super comfy and I'm picky about comfort shoes! I am pregnant with SI joint pain so a good comfort shoe is a must when I'm on my feet running around with my little ones. I got 7.5 W. If I could do it over (for the same price) I'd get 7W. It's roomy and has a soft fabric toungue. Love that the laces go around the shoe so it's fully adjustable. Linen and oat is a great neutral color combo. They have a nice feminine look as opposed to other Sperry styles. These do come with a memory foam insole instead which I prefer. I had some used Sperry's (different style) from the thrift store a while back but I didn't keep them because they were too narrow, didn't like the insole and they looked a bit manly.😐 These are much better.😊 These are my new go-to going to town mom shoe.

This shoe is for fashion ONLY. Although stylish, I purchased these for deck work. I have no doubt they’ll see water, yet the Angelfish style is absent a leather insole. Sperry replaced the standard, leather insole with a cheap, fabric liner, offering minimal arch support. I anticipate the fabric/foam liner won’t dry properly once wet, or in a timely manner.Other women’s Sperry styles, offer leather insoles and more arch support, as do the men’s styles. Not the Angelfish. Because I didn’t have time to return and wait for a replacement, I purchased leather insoles and tossed out the fabric pair, which added an additional expense to the purchase.I should also mention, the outside of the box was clearly marked with a yellow sticker, indicating ‘fabric insoles.‘ It appears the sticker identifies a choice exists for the insole. Leather perhaps? However, I was unable to find any vendor, including Sperry, currently offering the leather insole option.It’s disappointing a company like Sperry, founded 85 years ago, chose to compromise their reputation by supplying unsuitable materials to a loyal industry.

My daughter got me hooked on these, after I initially had my doubts about the shoes. They are my absolute favorite shoes to wear now! Let me just give you first-time Sperry wearers some tips, though. Yes, you will get blisters when you first wear them. It's happened to almost everyone I know who wear them. It's sort of like breaking them in. I remember complaining to my daughter about this, and asking how in the heck she can wear them. She assured me that if I gave it a day or two (and wore a bandaid), I wouldn't have any problems after. I know that sounds like some insane ritual to wear a pair of shoes, but it worked. Now, they're extremely comfortable.They are a bit narrow though, but my other daughter with very wide feet hasn't had any issues with this specific style. I think I bumped her up 1/2 a size, however, and they fit her perfectly.That said, I wanted to mention that there are some inconsistencies with Amazon's stock of Sperrys. I've ordered a few now, and never had any issues until just recently. -The shoes arrived with different "Sperry" stamps on the back of the heel. One literally looked like it was engraved and stamped, but partially crooked and faded. The other shoe's stamp was darker and looked more typical of a Sperry logo. I'm not sure if I was sent knock offs (or just one knock off?), or just a defective pair? Whichever the case, Amazon was great with sending a replacement, and that pair is perfect. The shoebox lid was really dusty, which is kind of odd, but the shoes were in perfect condition (Even have the plastic shoehorns inside the shoes), so I can't complain.Highly recommend these with the tips mentioned. Trust me, if you do get a blister, put a bandaid on, and hang tight. You just gotta break 'em in.

I have painful neuropathy and I have a hard time finding shoes that don't aggravate by feet. These shoes are really soft inside. The soles are very comfortable and easy for me to walk in. I have never purchased Sperry's before, but I will be a repeat buyer.

This is my third pair of Sperry Top-Sider shoes. I purchased them because I wore my other two out. I had them for years and they are the most comfortable shoes! The fact that they lasted years speaks volumes to the quality of the shoes. When you first get them, you have to wear them in a bit for them to reach the ultimate comfort. They tend to feel a little narrow, but owning two other pairs, I know they stretch out once you wear them for a bit.

As a teacher in always looking for shoes that can keep up with my day. After a few years of shoes with no support and aching feet and knees I finally bought the Sperry Top Siders. They are incredibly comfortable and have the support that most of my shoes lack. My feet don't ache at the end of the day, I'm not ripping them off and they look great with both dresses and pants. They are a great investment!

These shoes I had to send back for a 1/2 size smaller. I wear a 7 and all my other sperry's in size 7 fit perfectly. These flopped off and fit kinda wide...even though they look like narrow type shoes. These also cause rubbing on my heel unlike the Ivyfish Sperrys that I own. I can only wear these for a short time and they start to rub my heel and there is a bump by my little toe that rubs my foot sore after a couple hours too. These aren't nearly as comfortable as my Ivyfish, but they're cute and more feminine, so i will keep them for the days I won't need to wear them all day :-/.

For the second time I have received the incorrect size and colour shoes. The items advertised are size 5 and tan in colour those received both times were size 4.5 and light beige. This was after confirming with the seller after the first incorrect set that they had the correct item in stock. Very disappointed.

This is a truly fine brand, and the shoes do last several active seasons sailing if taken care of. This pair was a present to my wife. There are cheaper editions nearly as good - but do shop around carefully.

Product as expected and comfy to wear

Just as l expected fit and look exactly what l wanted. I have tried different boat shoes and these are definitely the best very comfortable, which after two operations on my right foot is very difficult to find. I can highly recommend these boat shoes. Delivery was on time as stated on the order.
