Great product! Makes delicious, refreshing mocktails! Flavored waters! Many ways to use!
I had plans for the "TAKAM Sour Grape Juice 16 Fl Oz Persian Verjus (Abghooreh) Zesty & Tart - from Juice of Unripe Grapes - Not from Concentrate, Perfect for Cooking & Recipes - adds Sour Flavor - Natural - Kosher Certified, Made in USA" since I'd never had it before. I got as far as using it in a vinegarette-type salad dressing, flavoring for water and a mocktail. I had planned to use it in a sweet and sour sauce/dressing for a stir fry but decided to reserve it just for drinks. I absolutely love it to flavor my ice water. So refreshing! I'd found a mocktail recipe online with the Sour Grape Juice, brown sugar (I used brown sugar Splenda) and rosemary sprigs over ice. Then I used the sour grape juice, water and amla berry powder etc. for another drink. Bottom line is I am having too much fun trying new drink mixtures that I want to use every drop of it for that. I drink a lot of water but some days I want something different, and this fits the bill perfectly. The Verjuice/Sour Grape juice doesn't taste like grapes to me. I don't know how to describe it, but it is sour and with a strong flavor like vinegar or lemon. Stir well before using. Refrigerate after opening. I appreciate the nutrition facts on my bottle match what is shown on the listing (8 servings per container with each serving being 2 fl. oz. 5 calories, 36mg sodium, <1g carb, 26mg calcium, 0.36mg iron. Everything else (including potassium) is listed as 0. I received my bottle in March 2024 and the Best Before date is 08/31/2026. Product of the USA.

It's good for making sour sauces and such, don't drink it
Reading some of the reviews of this is worth a laugh. You don't drink this. It's not a drink. Yes, it's technically grape juice, but no, it's not meant to be poured in a glass like it's Welch's or something. It says right in the title that it's for recipes. So, how do you use this? A lot of ways! Ever make a pan sauce? Add this, and now you have a tart pan sauce. You can use it as salad dressing. Maybe add a little olive oil to your salad and now you have a type of oil and vinegar dressing. I said you don't drink this, and that's true, but you can add a little to some drinks to make them tart. Basically, if you'd add lemon juice, you can add this instead. Some iced tea is good with a little of this. Now, I said a little, not half the bottle. Just like you don't squeeze a whole lemon into your glass of iced tea, you don't want to use a ton of this. This works best alongside meat. I made a pan sauce after searing a port tenderloin, and it was quite good. Pork and tart flavors go together well. It also goes well with chicken. It might go with steak, but I'm not sure about that one. I haven't tried it, because I'm not as willing to mess with a $40 steak as I am a $3 chicken breast. It would probably be good in a roast. Actually, I think that's what I'm going to try next.Point is, this is good stuff if you know how to use it. If you don't know how to use it, just google it.

a little goes a long way!
They weren't kidding with this sour grape juice - it's very potent and doesn't take much to add a lot of flavor to my recipes.

Bold and Tart
This is the first time i've heard of sour grape juice so i was intrigued. It's actually pretty tasty. While people are saying not to drink it straight, it actually tastes pretty good that way too. It's similar to pickle juice in how you drink it and it tastes really sour and tangy but in a good way as long as you don't drink a lot. I've also been mixing it into a glass of water for a refreshing summer drink that feels like the grape version of lemonade. Definitely worth a try! I've also heard you can use it in persian dishes or as a dressing enhancer so i'm interested to try that out as well.

no one has really cared for it
No one really cared for it. not sure if it's just not what we expected of the product or if the product isn't that good so I'm not giving a lot of stars off. We tried to cook with it like a vinegar and that wasn't great, though maybe we used too much? We did some mixed drinks and a few came out good but not great. One was pretty good and we've used it for that but don't do them often.
