I also purchased a grip head to attach holder to a lighting stand. All good, does a good job of holding my boom pole above talent's head. However, in the interests of reducing the amount of kit I take on location I have stopped carrying these with me - I find that a superclamp does the job just fine, it weighs and costs less than these 2 items and performs a 1001 other tasks too. Sure you can't change the angle of the dangle, but that hasn't caused me any problems, less is better!

Nice and simple, does the job.Just make sure you use it with a solid stand if using it with a fully extended boom.

This is just one of those products you buy that is just right, strong and prefect for the job it's designed for.

Like the simplicity of this device.Please remember that it is not possible to easily check the quality of the weld joint between the verticle stem and top because of the black plastic coating. Suggest a good stress test before loading it with expensive boom and microphone above the presenter or actor.Also, do not forget to budget for a suitable 'Grip Head' and a tripod stand or 'C' standwith a sand or shot bag for safety.

Great values, save's your arm's holding the boom pole with microphone! These are perfect to mount onto a C-Stand to record seated interviews minimizing needing a n additional crew/boom operator to hold the microphone.

The perfect accompaniment to the boom pole bracket. Sturdy and well made, this will save your poor arms on indoor shoots.

Broke after only a couple of uses. Snapped at the two very small welds on the downward pole. I had a 416 in a stripped down Rycote WS4 mount on a Panamic boom pole. Snapped and nearly hit someone in the face. Very poor design, after peeling back the black plastic to find two very poor and very badly done welds. Avoid at all costs. I've used the boom buddy many times with a lot heavier mics and never had a problem. This was bought as a back up. Never again.

Fantastic used it on location with a c stand a couple of times now. As good as anything three times the price.
