As a beginner I am very pleased with this glaze.
Speedball Mid-Fire Glaze, Blue, 16 Ounce Jar for Pottery and CeramicsFirst impressions: Speedball is a well known brand for all art supplies. This is the first time I’ve seen the pottery glazes from them. Nice wide mouth short jar that allows my wide brush to reach all the way to the bottom. The glaze is nice and thick, it can be thinned if you like.Installation/setup: Apply two to three coats to bisque fired clay fired to cone 4 that has been cleaned with a damp sponge. Let dry between coats. Fire to cone 6.Final thoughts: I like the effect of three coats brushed on to my speckled stoneware clay fired to cone 4 bisque. I put this on a set of 4 mugs and they came out fantastic. As a beginner I am very pleased with this glaze. I like this and I’m glad I got it.⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

Good glaze- nice color
This is the first Speedball glaze I've tried and I only have 2 types of clay on hand so I can't say it's compatible with a lot of other clay bodies, but for Continental's mid-fire white and mid-range oxidation, it works very well. It is very thick in the jar, so 2 coats seems like enough to get the light baby blue color and still keep a bit of the yellow showing. It is opaque and past 2 coats, you couldn't tell I had it on brown clay. It does look like it will fill up light texture, so keep that in mind if you apply more than 2-3 coats. It is also stable- I didn't get any drips or runs with 4 thick coats. One more thing I appreciate is the short pint jar with a wider opening I can get my larger paintbrush into.I would recommend this glaze if you're a fan of light pastel colors. I think it is nice and might have to check out the other Speedball glazes.

stunning look if you follow simple directions!
To achieve the variegated colors and intense beauty is actually very simple. And the same with any glaze that offers the duo tones. First, fire your bisque to cone 04 and then wipe off all dust with a damp sponge. Then apply three coats of this glaze but be SURE to let each coat dry in between. You can apply less but if you want the results shown on the container, more dramatic, you will want 3 coats. Then fire to cone 6.You can also apply less coats. I did two coats on this cracker tray and love that the blue variation is light. I also did a different color around the rim. But the beautiful variation of blue and yellowish is from this glaze alone all over the piece. It's stunning! You will want to do that on porcelain or stoneware. Low-fire clay will melt firing at cone 6.You can also layer these colors for an even more dramatic effect. I like these over a white stoneware to show the full effect. If you want even more movement, apply some flux to some areas which creates more movement in the glaze. These are stunning and easy to use to make your works look like you are far more advanced. Such a great outcome!

Great value product
The color of this glaze is gorgeous, very accurate to what's shown on the photos under most circumstances. I used it with it couple coats and was able to get the yellow to show through. It has a nice consistency and as a beginner I felt it was easy to work with. Speedball is a great brand that goes back generations of art supplies, I trust them.

Love speedball glazes!
We love speedball glazes, and this blue definitely doesn't disappoint. It's a beautiful colour with a lovely sheen/patina, and it looks awesome on all sorts of different types of clay. We did not have the same issues some people did with packaging--the glaze arrived completely sealed and without a leak in sight.

16 oz, Cool Ethereal Blue Color
Many of the glazes we have are in smaller bottles, so I am very pleased to get this larger 16 ounce jar. I love blues in ceramics, and I have a couple pieces I need to glaze soon, so they will become my test pieces for this glaze. I love Speedball products, and many of my printing supplies are from them. I'll post pictures once I get the test pieces fired.
