Fixed our 30 year old shower

The ceramic design is definitely an upgrade. Initially, before installing, the valve works very smooth with a light twist. When installing the valve, if you over-tighten it, it greatly increases the friction on the ceramic plates, it can even damage them. So, I had to readjust the torque I applied. I used the water faucet to spin the valve into place and once it started to tighten, I kept testing for how easy it was to open the valve. It turns out that the valve is definitely not torqued even 2 lbs . If a person were to open the valve all the way, they could unscrew it a bit. Then it will start dripping. I wonder if the actual Price Pfister are designed better, and allow more tightening.
