light weight
I bought that aluminium-tailpiece mainly for to make the heavy Les Paul a little lighter: The original tailpiece on my US-Gibson LP weighs 95grams, this alu-tailpiece weighs a third (32g). I put it on the original screws, it fitted well, no problems. Didn't care for the screws. Pressed my dirty thumb on the blinking screws until they turned a little more matt and that's all.The screw-topic: I did even not expect the screws would fit, knowing that european and US-Gibsons have different threads for the screws, as czeck Epiphones may have others than japanese Epiphones or american Gibsons. For the case you buy this tailpiece here (too) for look-questions, then of course you want the screws in aged look and for the case the screws here do not fit, you have moe than one possibility:1: Change the bushings: Care then for the electric ground-connection (thin wire) that very often is fixed at one of the two bushings: Study first the electric diagram of your guitar and in case it is really fixed at one of the bushings (drive in-sleeves) of the tailpiece, then make sure that this thin wire is not broken in the exchange-process of the bushing. However, if it brakes, then it is something that can be repaired, but it is laborious.Solution 2: Age your original screws: If they are nickel-coated, put them 12 to 60 hours in the vapors of vinaigre. If they are chrom-coated, it must be the vapor of muriatic acid. Caution: Do this work outside, acid vapor is not good for the health. Always control the aging process in the course of the passing hours: It is easier to repeat the process ten times than to let the pieces one time too long in the acid vapor and the chrome or nickel is fully eaten, because under the top-coat is in both cases a copper-coat and this one will then turn green with the time and this effect is supposedly not what you want. You want only to take the bright shine of the blinking top-coat away. Some people put the chromed pieces directly in the muriatic acid, but then, you must be very rapid and supercautios, i read that it is then a thing of minutes. My urgent advice: Google first for the how-to-do, there are too several you-tube-videos on that topic, profit of other people's shared experiences. Basically, it's easy - when you know how to do it (!) -. You will need very few acid, however, acid is not good for the environment, so read first how to dispose of it correctly.Solution 3: Take some matt lacquer, a small brush, and paint the screwheads (a silver lacquer-pen will do the thing) - it will take the mirrorlike reflection away, that's what you want.

Looks good... but screws do not fit
The tailpiece looked pretty good, however the screws did not fit my USA Gibson Les Paul. I took a risk hoping that they would, but I can see I’m not the first that has had this problem. I’m disappointed that I’ll now need to buy another set of screws as I have no use for these ones.

Very nice piece of hardware
Well-aged look, a little gummy out of the box but easy to wipe clean, VERY good deep steel anchor bushings and bolts
