Comfort and control in one upgrade!
I’ve been riding with the SR SUNTOUR SP12-NCX suspension seatpost for a few weeks now, and it’s easily one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my hybrid commuter bike. If you ride on mixed terrain, spend long hours in the saddle, or just want to take the edge off bumpy roads, this seatpost is an absolute game-changer.First impressions — the seatpost is robust and well-made. The finish is clean, the design is sleek in matte black, and the included protective rubber boot keeps dirt and grime out of the moving parts. It has a nice weight to it — solid, but not excessively heavy for what you get in return in terms of comfort.Installation is simple — it fits perfectly into my 30.9mm seat tube and secured without any play. I transferred over my existing saddle with no issues and was ready to roll in about 10 minutes. It comes with clear instructions, though if you’ve fitted a seatpost before, you won’t need them. The real difference is out on the road or trail. The parallelogram suspension design is incredibly effective at absorbing shocks from potholes, gravel paths, uneven cycle lanes and rooty woodland trails. Instead of feeling every jolt in your spine, the movement of the post soaks it up without affecting your pedalling or posture. It’s smooth, controlled, and not bouncy like older or cheaper suspension posts. The preload is adjustable, so you can fine-tune it based on your weight and riding style. I dialled mine in for around 85kg and it feels spot on — firm enough to not feel sluggish but forgiving enough to really reduce fatigue over time.I’ve ridden with it on short 10km commutes and on 40km weekend rides, and it’s made a noticeable difference in terms of comfort and how fresh I feel at the end. It’s particularly good if you’re recovering from back issues or just want to reduce strain on longer rides. The only thing to keep in mind is that you lose a little bit of saddle height due to the travel, so you might need to make a slight adjustment to your saddle position. Not a flaw — just something to account for during setup. All things considered, this seatpost is a fantastic investment for anyone riding on less-than-perfect surfaces. Reliable, well-engineered, and genuinely improves ride quality. If comfort matters to you, you won’t regret adding this to your bike. Top marks from me!

Probably the best mod I made to my bike, ever!
These days, I just have the one bike. I'm too old and too broken to want to throw myself down a mountain, or tuck my head between my thighs and roar along country lanes. I have adopted a more relaxed attitude to cycling. I want to sit up and see what's around me, mixing country lanes with canal paths and muddy tracks. Until now, I thought I had the perfect bike for that - a road-biased hybrid with 35mm tyres and a 48-11 top-gear for some respectable speed on the tarmac. Then I bought this seat-post. The change was remarkable. On the roads, it absorbs all those little bumps and divots that are hard to avoid and makes the journey a little more relaxed. But it really comes into it's own on the rougher stuff. The 15-mile canal path from Worcester up to Tardebrigge can be a tortuous affair at times. It's all up-hill, and mostly a mix of gravel and mud, with plenty of tree-roots and small rocks thrown in for fun. It's a lovely ride, but it's bloody murder on my back and I just can't be bothered to stand-up the whole way. With this seat-post most of that just fades away. I still have to jump over the larger roots, but all the little stuff is just smoothed away. I can honestly say I was 10% faster along this track with this seat-post, managing to complete the trip in under an hour for the first time ever. The key is that the suspension in the post rotates, rather than just going up or down. That way, my feet are always the same distance from my bum, so there's no loss of power, and I can stay in the zone more or less constantly. And when I get to the end, I feel remarkably fit with no sore back and I can enjoy the 20 mile fast burn back down the A38 in comfort.Honestly, there's nowhere this seat post isn't a benefit. Sure it weighs a little more then my previous post, but we're only talking a few ounces here - which is trivial compared to the amount of weight that's on the saddle! So unless you're on a fast road bike and looking to shave every gram of weight, this is a great upgrade for all hardtail bikes.

Great seatpost and well worth the upgrade
No suspension seatpost is going to turn your hardtail bike into a full sus, but in fairness this one does come closer than I had expected! Fitting it is simplicity itself (just make sure you buy the correct size for your downtube of course!). It's worth spending a little time fine tuning the spring setting. At first I had mine set to be too firm, and although it was OK at this setting, it didn't give a great deal of suspension and it made a slightly annoying knocking noise whenever it topped out (i.e., the bike and I separated). I backed the setting screw off a little, so as to make it 'softer' and the ride was much more comfortable and the knocking disappeared. I'm just under 100 kg, and the standard spring suits me fine. I'm very happy with the level of suspension that this seatpost provides, and happy to recommend it.

Good suspension
I was feeling some of the big bumps in the lower part of my back when riding off the road. Decided to try a suspension seat post. After fitting post I did a 46mile ride on and off road. It greatly improved the ride for my back. Just check the post size on your ride before ordering. It was very easy to fit and the seat rail adjustment are on both sides making it easy to adjust seat.

Worth buying if you want full suspension but have a hard tail.
I bought a hard tail emtb, but later regretted not having full suspension, however this seatpost really makes up for it. First class product.

Game changer!
Easy to fit and ti make subsequent adjustments to the pre-load and the seat angle. The added comfort is palpable within the first few yards of cycling. A REALLY good investment for riding over mixed terrain.
