This heavy duty drain grate is exactly as you would expect. It is heavy, made of cast iron and coated with some black asphalt. The finish is a bit rough rather than smooth but that's not a problem.We are going to use it to cover the entrance to a new gully near the house that has become necessary because of recent flooding on the patio.

I ordered this because my previous grate after years of driving over it, the drain cover had worked its way loose and part of the drain edge needed to be replaced.My previous grate had bent so this was the perfect size and fitted the flood defence perfectly.It is even more sturdy and weighty than my original grate that I have just disosed of.Recommended.

I ordered this drainage cover in the size 20 x 12 inches as ive been having a issue with the rain draining away due to the type of the system implimented by the builders when they built my home so needing to make sure the water will drain away quicker because it was beginning to reach the front door on heavy rain days this size grate is perfect to go across our section of door way to stop that happening and drain the water. With this grate being made of iron its definately the perfect size and weight to sit in place and for sure take the traffic load of feet coming and going and even stood on the grate as the weight ratio is way above the amount we need however this grate was the perfect length and width and will last a lifetime. At the time of ordering the size drain grate cost £69.99 which is good value considering the weight of the iron, design and use in my opinion.
