Top Man
This is dvd of Gene on tour in Australia, giving his opinions on the things he loves - money, women and music, and much more besides.Daughter Sophie takes you on a tour of the Simmon's residence and you also see the enormous KISS room with his gold and platinum awards from all over the world, and the vast amount of merchandise any KISS fan would die for. This is a fascinating look at this legendary icon's private life with his own personal philosophies. You either love or hate him, and I'm biased as I happen to be a fan and love and respect the man. But whatever you may think of him, he has come a long way since he was that little eight year old boy who came to America from Israel in proving that anyone, if they are not afraid of hard work and have the determination to succeed and not give up, can also make their own dreams come true. Why should he be modest or humble? He is someone who has never been afraid of pushing the bounderies and despite the title of his album - is certainly no a**hole.

Gene being Gene
I am a Kiss fan and therefore have an interest in this DVD as Gene has always been a bit of a rock God for me. I suppose the trick here has to be whether he can appeal to a wider base than the fans, and I don't really think he does. I enjoyed as a fan seeing round his house and meeting his kids, the section with them was well done. The lecture part was really Gene being himself and giving his philosophy to those who wish to listen. In fact a lot of it I do find interesting, even if I don't always agree with him.It does have a focus and he is a clear speaker once he gets on his theme! Of course he is ego on legs but a lot of that is front and the dvd gives a more rounded picture. Beyond that it doesn't go, there's no music other than a segment of his 'firestarter' shot and that's a shame. So I'd say this ones strictly for fans really. If it's your thing great, but if you're not into the band then leave alone.
