Innovative MarineMighty Jet DC Return Pump (Desktop: 326 GPH)

The stock return pump on my Innovative Marine Fusion 20 was fairly noisy. It didn't help that the tank was in my home office about 10 feet from me. I bought this pump based on the excellent reviews at Amazon and other online aquarium stores. It was a little pricey but being that it was a guaranteed fit in my tank as well as being touted as a very quiet pump I went ahead and bought it.As usual it came right on time from Amazon. Out of the box, the pump felt solid and seem to be well made. Had all the fittings required to work with various applications. I swapped out the stock pump with the Mighty Jet and hooked it all up. The controller is works very well. Being able to control the amount of flow is great and being able to put the pump into feed mode is a nice feature for those without a sophisticated tank controller like an Apex. It was immediately clear that the pump can move a lot of water and produced a good amount of flow throughout the tank even without a wave maker.First impression on noise was that the pump was quieter than the stock IM 20 return pump. I noticed a little of rattling noise as I increased the flow using the controller. I left it running at 14 hoping that once it breaks in the slight rattling noise would go away. My office is a very quiet room and I can definitely hear the noise, even though it was much quieter than the stock pump it still kind of bothered me.After a few days, I decided to pull the pump out of the tank to inspect it. I removed the water inlet shroud and pulled the cover off to inspect the ceramic spindle and impeller. Seemed fine and reinserted the impeller and spindle back in making sure to seat everything well. I put the cover back on and made sure everything was nice and tight. I made sure the return tubes were inserted into the fitting properly and then put the pump back into the tanks return chamber. Turned everything back on and noticed that the slight rattling noise was nearly gone. Wow, what a difference.This morning while doing work in the office, I can tell you that the pump is extremely quiet. I can hear it only because it's less than 10 feet away but there is no more rattling noise coming from it. I would not say it is dead silent because that is relative to what ambient noise is around you but in my situation it is super quiet and I have it turned to it's highest flow setting.I highly recommend this pump to anyone with a IM Fusion tank or want a pump that is truly quiet. It is worth the money.

I have two of these running different tanks. One has been running over a year with no issues. They are pretty much silent and one can easily pump enough water for a 20 gallon cube to not need other powerheads all while pushing up from a sump about three feet below the return nozzles.The wave mode is meh, but for just moving water, this is great! I do wish they were a little less expensive.

I have both versions. I used the 538gph version for my IM NUVO40 AIO tank as the return pump. I know use it on my larger tank to run a UV sterilizer. I use the smaller one on my IM NUVO10 AIO and it fits perfectly in the return chamber.Both pumps are silent. I hate pump noise and I’m currently 10’ away from this pump and can hear nothing.The controller is easy to use. Mine came “locked” which confused me for a minute but after reading the manual I figured it out.I have heard that these pumps don’t have great head height but I’ve never really tested that out. Honestly I think they’re designed for IM’s all-in-one line.

One thing I didn't like about my IM Nuvo 10 was the pump, not enough flow. I have used a wave maker in it for the last three years but hated the look and the loss of space in my tank. This pump is amazing. I did have to lower the flow because it was pounding my Aussie Torch but once I slowed it down it is perfect. Much quieter than the small stock pump that comes with the tank too.*Note to those who get it for an IM 10 gallon. You have to remove the end cover of the pump for it to fit in the back chamber. Today is day one with this pump running and all is well.

It is very quiet, however, it is not UL listed. UL listing means it's safety has been verified.

Wow. A DC pump with a brand name on it for under $100. You can't go wrong. I am running the pump in my IM Fusion 20. The pump is SILENT. You cannot hear it run at all. It comes with a nice selection of adapters to fit almost any hose line. It feels solid and pushes a good amount of water. I used to run a MJ1200 and this pushes more water and does it silently. The controller is nice and the feed option has made the hobby more enjoyable also. I run the pump at 100% and its great. I would recommend the next model up for the Fusion 20. Great product and well made. Thanks!

It’s a great pump for its price. Easy to use and clean. It is a pump specifically for an Innovative Marine Tank.
