Britax Advocate G4 Convertible Car Seat, Broadway

Yes, it costs a lot of money. But it's holding very precious cargo. As a former law enforcement officer, I will only use Britax car seats for my children. They are top rated in safety and perform extremely well on all levels. Through the years, I have used numerous Britax models on my children and have loved all of them. The Advocate G4 Convertible is no exception, I love it. The fabric is soft (and pretty :), the seat appears very comfortable, the straps tighten easily and effectively, it's simple to install and remove from the car, it will last a long time and it has the ultimate in safety features! The absolute only drawback is it's size. It's H U G E. I currently use it in the rear facing mode (and will do so as long as absolutely possible!). However, there is practically no space in the front passenger seat of my Rav4. And forget about putting anyone I the middle seat of my vehicle, because I use two Britax seats, both of which have side impact protection (which makes the seat very wide). BUT, it's the safety features that contribute to the large size of the seat. I'd rather sacrifice space than compromise my children's safety by getting smaller seats. I realize that not all families have this option. But, if you can make it work with less space or if you have a larger vehicle, the Advocate provides a comfortable, stylish and, most importantly, safe ride!

Does not recline as far as I'd like for it to for a newborn, have to roll up a towel and place under. Is that high tech? There are other seats with 9 recline positions out there. Seem to be flatter for a newborn than this one, you can also find those with metal frame for safety.

Love the car seat, wish the company would make a better variety of feminine colors, but we had to settle for this print. It's actually fun and lovely in person, just like the photo description. Because of the impact something-or-others on either side of the product, it is VERY large and wide! Much larger than we'd imagined, but definitely worth it knowing that our daughter is that much safer in case of an accident. Unfortunately we had to return the product because we'd meant to order the Advocate Click Tight, and this was the Advocate Click n' Safe. Whoops!

I ordered this car seat because my daughter maxed out the weight limit for her britax chaperone infant car seat. We have been stuck at home until this car seat arrived (4-18-14). I got this on time and when i brought the box inside I was shocked. The box was very damaged and the car seat looked as if it had been used already. It had residue on the straps and seat and the base had brown paint on it. I have always chosen britax as my children's car seats but after Calling and complaining about this product I will reconsider. I spoke to customer service and she told me I could "keep the car seat until I get the new one in 2-3 days" What makes someone think I wan't to tote my daughter around in a defective car seat?! Not only did I not get an apology but I also didn't get refunded my money or given this new replacement for free. That's right I paid $304 JUST for the car seat and now I have to miss work until it arrives and HOPE this new one isn't broken. I ordered this car seat on wed 4-16-14 and it won't be here 4-22-14 that's 6 days and I paid for 2 day shipping! I am a single mom and have to go to work but can't until we get this replacement. This has been a HUGE inconvenience for us. I will not be ordering from this company again.

My 10 months baby seemed so uncomfortable in this seat, I really wanted to love it, as it looks very safe and looks pretty too. But I could not take the screaming baby anymore. Here are the problems that I had, similar to another reviewer- Not enough leg room for the child- Awkward and difficult to get the child in and out of the seat-Straps are too short, very hard to put them over the baby's arm- It does not recline enough for rear facing, and they actually recommend to put a pool noodle to recline the chair more, what? that it's insane and not very safe, why would I pay so much money for a car seat if i have to do thatAnyways thanks to the amazon't great return policy, I hope we can get a full refund. We got the Graco Head Wise 70 Car Seat, and that one doesn't have all these problems,happy baby, happy mommy, the only problem with this one is that the straps are little hard to tighten for me, but that is not a problem for my husband

Fantastic car seat. We put these in the back of the Mazda CX-5. It fits rear-facing, barely. If you are tall you will have a problem. We had to move the driver seat up and put up the recline. I am 5'4" as the driver and I can have the seat comfortable but if you need the seat back more, you will have to put the seat on the passenger side so you can have the passenger seat forward more.Otherwise, this is a very high quality item. Our child is very comfortable in it. The install is very straight-forward, and the tether, whether rear-facing or forward-facing is very easy to install, at least in the Mazda CX-5. Because of all the protection for the side impact though, the seat is very wide and if you are trying to fit multiple carseats across I would not go with this carseat especially if you have a small car. There is no way you can comfortably get 3 seats across if you need to unless you have a full size SUV like a suburban.Also, it is big bulky seat, so definitely want to look elsewhere or get a second seat if you are trying to travel on an airplane. You definitely do NOT want to be lugging this seat around.Overall a fantastic car seat, and per the research, one of the safest you can buy from a very reputable company. Thankfully we have not needed to test that.

I have a 2012 Nissan Murano and this seat fit tightly and securely rear-facing in the middle back. It's super comfortable and is extremely well made. As soon as I secured my 14 month old daughter in it, I knew that she would be safe. It was super easy to install and I can strap her in and out with ease. It's also a very attractive seat. I LOVE it!
