Product description This hot smoked paprika is made from ground Capsicum peppers by El Rey de la Vera in Extremadura, south-west Spain. The spicy peppers are picked, then dried and smoked in the traditional way over oak fires. Then they are ground into a fine powder using traditional stone wheels. This is a method started by monks in the 15th century in the region of La Vera. The area has remained renowned for this product since then, and has its own Denomination of Origin as a guarantee of its quality. Ingredients 100% smoked paprika

A must have ingredient
I purchased this spice after watching endless cooking programmes and it is well worth purchasing , it makes food come alive and please be careful on the amount you use as it is very strong , so small amounts needed , it is gorgeous in soups and spicy meatballs!! a must buy from this seller

Not really 'picante'
I found that this pimenton hardly made any impact when added to dishes. I have previously used pimenton 'La Chinata' and think it vastly superior. Should you try to obtain 'La Chinata' look at the prices offered by a company called BRINDISA.
