It works
The media could not be loaded. This works and quickly began turning my frankincense into incense smoke after plugging it in, without the need for fire or charcoal briquettes or anything. The way this works is just plain and simple--if it's plugged in, it will be very hot and you have to completely unplug it to turn it off. There aren't any safety guidelines or instructions included. So definitely be careful with it.The pictures made it seem like it would be made of a cheap plasticy/alloy material, and it's definitely still on the cheap side, but it's more substantial than I had expected. I did have to use a screwdriver to attach the top bit to the cover.

Very Dissapointing
The media could not be loaded. The Alipis incense burner concept is promising, yet it falls short in engineering and effectiveness. The unit features a two-prong plug and a lid that feels cheap and flimsy. Inside, there's a metal bottom that heats up but fails to reach a sufficient temperature for burning many types of incense. I tested it with incense from Mount Athos, Greece, and another variety from Israel; while the latter burned adequately, the former did not produce any smoke.I was drawn to this product as a means to reduce my monthly charcoal use and to find a healthier, cleaner burning method indoors. The design of the burner is traditionally Middle Eastern, reminiscent of Coptic styles I've seen before, which I appreciate aesthetically. However, the burner is unexpectedly lightweight, which was a letdown as I anticipated something more robust.A positive aspect is the length of the cord, which allows for easy positioning on a table or countertop.Ultimately, if the burner functioned effectively, it would merit a higher rating. However, compared to my traditional coal-burning incense setup, it produces negligible smoke—reminiscent of a candle melter that emits a faint scent and then dissipates.Due to its poor performance, lack of durability, and overall value, I cannot recommend purchasing this product.

Does what it's meant to do
The overall appearance of the burner is nice. It's well made with good details. It's very simple to use. Put your incense in the bowl and place the top back on. Plug it in and let it do its thing. It would have been nice to have an inline power switch with a temperature control. That way, you wouldn't always have to unplug it, and you could dial back the power if the smell becomes too strong. All in all, though, I do like this, and it is working fine. It's a good value for what you get.
