A masterpiece
It's an amazing book in that the narrative moves along so well on such a complex subject. Well written and worth your reading time

One of the Best
Masters of the Air is an extremely detailed account of what the Army Air Corp went through, did and accomplished in WWII. It’s Band of Brothers like but about the air corp. Provides a very detailed and informative account of what the brave aviators went through to insure Germany was defeated. I’ve read a number of WWII books and articles about various aspects of what really went on. None of them tops Masters of the Air. I have not read nor seen anything that provides such a complete account of what actually happened to defeat the Third Reich.

Very thorough coverage
I had seen this book for several years and decided to buy it after the Apple TV show came out. This book covers it all from before the eighth Air Force was established to the last flights. POWs are covered but also internees in neutral countries which I had never seen covered in any other book. A true tour de force!

Much Better than the TV Series
Loved the book. It's long, dry in parts, heartbreaking and technical. Much better than the TV series and an excellent companion to the series. (So far at least as the series isn't over but I finished the book.) It gives needed background and insight. Where the series can be superficial the book gives depth. I cannot fathom what the bomber boys went through or how any of them came back undamaged.

Soaring through the air
A long book but 100% worth the read. Amazing stories of bravery and unwavering brotherhood. No one is safe when it comes to world war. The WWII generation is truly the greatest generation of our time. I won’t spoil any of the depths of knowledge in this book so I recommend people read it.

Masters of the Air
This book is written well. I always love to read a book about history especially when it’s been turned in a TV Series. The series is accurate. It was nice to have a look behind the curtain and more details about this timeframe in history that the series may not have included in it.

outstanding story of strategic bombing in Europe WWII
The author not only talks about individual stories but includes the doctrine and changing tactics during the war. He discusses POWs, medical and psychological issues and shows the results both good and bad of the air war. His bibliography is wonderful. I highly recommend this book.

Important piece of history
Had read a couple of memoirs from crew members before, but this book also includes some very interesting historical backgrounds next to descriptions of what some crews encountered in England and during flights. Can't wait for the new TV series based on this book..
