These studs are pretty good. The brass color seems more like some kind of finish. I had imagined these would have a matte finish and seem like they were almost made out of antique spoons or something, but that was my own misconception. I'm still pleased with them. The prongs are pointy but not pointy enough for them to puncture a single layer of leather with ease. A cutting tool and/or some elbow grease is necessary for these to be set. I got these with an order of silver English cones as well and these studs, although technically the same size, are just a tiny little bit smaller. It's unnoticeable to anyone besides whoever set the studs. Some may find this annoying but it worked well for me because for this project I mixed the different studs to add a more worn and less polished/perfect feel to the jacket, so the extremely small difference in size helped me control the spacing of my stud rows. Essentially I was able to correct small errors that I had made by placing a brass stud instead of a silver stud. Small errors can go on to become quite noticeable if allowed to progress down a row of studs. All in all they are worth it.In the picture I have attached, I'm showing how the brass studs look when set in the same area as silver studs. Sometimes the difference is unnoticeable and sometimes it is easy to spot (depending on the lighting, really)
