How hot can this grill get?

We have actually gotten this grill well over 400C / 700 F. Watch the video(7th image) at about the 58 second mark to see the readings. You can easily get and stay above 500F+ consistently, especially if you add the lid. Turn down the fan if its too hot to lower the temp. Hope that helps

What charcoal do you recommend for use with this grill?

We recommend starting with dry plain charcoal(no starter fluid added) uses a starter gel on bottom. Once you have gotten better you can try flavored charcoal or even wood based chips.

Can you use it on a plastic folding tabl?

Yes, this can be used on a plastic table. The bottom does not get hot enough to do any damage. We do recommend that the table is large and sturdy to probably support it and you use caution with the charcoal and other hot items.

Does this have a temperature gage???

Yes, the lid (included with accessory box) has a temperature gauge in the middle!
