I love the Bonega Fitness Tracker..
Update: TUE 12 JUN 2018I must have originally had a faulty one, as a new one I received on Monday last week (4 June 2018) seems to charge very easily and I haven’t had any problems WHATSOEVER with it... I must have just originally received a Faulty one.I have reviewed my perception of the BONEGA HR Fitness Tracker back from 2 Stars to 5 Stars for the following reasons;1) My latest BONEGA HR Tracker seems to work very seamlessly with my iPhone 8 on the Apple iOS Operating System. I’ve just updated my phone from iOS 11.3 to 11.4, and all seem to be continually working well2) I like the information the Tracker Automatically sends to APPLE HEALTH (Apple iOS Operating System Equivalent of Android Operating System’s GOOGLE FIT Health Data) such as Heart Rate, Sleep Data, Active Energy Data, AND Steps Taken.3) I’ve come to the conclusion that no matter what type of Tracker or Smartwatch you have or buy, they will ALWAYS have their “good points” and “bad points”4) I like the fact that it is fairly waterproof, and unlike a few Fitbits I’ve had (Sorry Fitbit!), the straps appear to be durable and do NOT look like they break or WOULD start cracking soon..5) I’m aware it’s not so easy to view the screen in BRIGHT SUNLIGHT, however I compensate for that by curbing my hand over the BONEGA HR Tracker Watchface6) I like the fact that the battery lasts seven days or more, though I have a number of features enabled e.g. Phone Call Alert, SMS. WhatsApp and Calendar Events enabled... It makes a nice buzzing sound to attract your attention - NOT so easy to miss7) The App Developer For VeryFitPro seems to be committed to maintaining the app & enhancing its performance on the APPLE AppStore. BUT you MUST ENSURE YOU SYNCH YOUR SMARTWATCH DATA TO THE APP BEFORE 12.00 MIDNIGHT (24:00HRS) EACH DAY , otherwise nothing goes through to the APPLE HEALTH App (For iPhones).By the way, synching the watch to the app within a few hours of getting up and AGAIN at about 10mins before MIDNIGHT appears to improve the QUALITY & ACCURACY of information fed through from the watch to the VERYFITPRO App and by extension to the APPLE HEALTH APP for iPhones..And on a very different note, I wrote my first review of this product very late at night...... A simpler way to charge the BONEGA HR Tracker :a) Buy a 5V/500mA OverVoltage/OverCurrent PROTECTED USB Adaptor from Amazon (AGPTEC UC1 USB 5V/500mA wall charger or an equivalent is a Good one..)b) and once you’ve carefully but firmly eased the part of wrist band with the buckle off the Main Component of the BONEGA HR Tracker, ensure that the Curved part of the Tracker is facing you, with the golden strip bit on the bottom sidec) Plug the Main Component of the Tracker into the Voltage/Current-PROTECTED 5V/500mA USB Wall Charger, ensuring that WHEN plugging in the Tracker into the USB Wall Charger, that you can see the golden metal strips on the inside of the USB Wall Charger (These golden metal strips should visible from the inside of the USB Wall Adaptor & looking straight at the Wall Charger. would be on the TOP SIDE where you slot in the Tracker)... As you have an OVERVOLTAGE/OVERCURRENT Protected Wall Charger, it wouldn’t matter IF you put the BONEGA HR Tracker in the wrong way round for CHARGING - ALL that would happen is that the Tracker would NOT charge UNTIL the CONNECTIONS were facing the right way...If the BONEGA HR Tracker does NOT initially connect/“pair up” with your phone when you FIRST set it up, I’ve found restarting my phone seemed to resolve the issue...Many thanks for READING AND Plesse NOTE that my REVIEWS of Thursday 31 May 2018 and earlier for this Product can be skipped, IF you just want my own summary of the Performance of the BONEGA HR Tracker....Update: THU 31 MAY 2018Unfortunately, with a heavy heart and great disappointment, I’ve had to review my Rating of the BONEGA HR FITNESS TRACKER from Five Stars to Two Stars... And Why You May Ask?... I loved everything about the Tracker - Solid Build, Good Features, Easy-Tap Touch-Sensitive Screen. I received it Brand New on Sunday 20 May 2018 50% and Charged it for just under 2 hours to FULL BATTERY CAPACITY (100%).However, yesterday Wednesday 30 May 2018, having used it for 11 days and the battery percentage was now down to 12%, I proceeded to charge it as before BUT using my 5V 250mA Charger and a Power-SURGE PROTECTED POWER SUPPLY, as before, and checking it every half an hour for up to 2Hours. Unfortunately, IT REFUSED TO CHARGE PAST 13%.I have NO way of contacting the seller and so as an Amazon Prime Member, I have had to initiate a Returns Request for the item and I’m on my way to returning the defective item to Amazon.UPDATE: MON 28 MAY 2018I have had the Bonega Fitness Tracker for over 7days now and this are my impressions:USING AN iPhone 8 ( Although I’m confident it should work well on an iPhone 5 running iOS 9.3.5)GOOD POINTS:1) Battery lasts at least a week or more IF MOST notifications are turned off (At time if writing the Fitness Tracker per the VeryFitPro app info had ONLY gone down to 30% Battery Power Left on Day 8!)2) The Sleep, Step Counter and Heart Rate seems not too far out compared to WHAT I obtained on my Fitbit Surge HR Tracker3) The Screen seems to be fairly touch-sensitive & ONE ONLY needs to TAP one’s finger ever so gently on the oblong-shaped icon at the bottom of the Fitness Tracker.4) The VeryFitPro App that works in conjunction with the Fitness Tracker and uploads information to APPLE HEALTH (on iPhones these is WHERE all health-related info is stored securely ONLY on one’s phone) seems to be one of the MOST RELIABLE apps I’ve come across so far for these lower-end but increasingly reliable and robust Fitness Trackers, I’ve ever come across5) The app working in conjunction with the Fitness Tracker has a choice of FOUR Clock Faces and SEVEN ALARM REMINDER OPTIONS (e.g. Sleep, Medicine Taking, Appointments, Meetings etc)6) The Fitness Tracker does NOT appear to be Over-Counting my steps like a few low-end Trackers I’ve had in the pastAnd BAD POINTS (IF you choose to see it that way...)1) Although the Fitness Tracker tracks and stores your information all throughout the day and converts it into a graph on the app, YOU NEED TO UPLOAD/SYNCHRONISE THE DATA ON YOUR BONEGA FITNESS TRACKER to the VERYFITPRO App at least twice a day (morning & late evening) as like other Trackers in this Price Range, the data on the Fitness Tracker gets reset back to zero AFTER 12:00 MIDNIGHT each day!2) You need to give the app PERMISSION to use YOUR LOCATION WHILE YOU ARE USING THE APP, in order for the app to work EFFECTIVELY & EFFICIENTLY with your BONEGA Fitness Tracker (I tend to close the app in my phone once I’ve downloaded the info from my Fitness Tracker to the VeryFitPro App to stop my location being used in the background, which will ALSO drain the phone’s battery quicker!)3) At end of each day, it’s best to close down the VeryFitPro app on your phone otherwise it sometimes stops SYNCHRONISING Well with the Fitness Tracker4) When you FIRST open the VeryFitPro app on your phone each day, you need to pull down the app on one or two of its pages to synchronise info from the Fitness Tracker to the VeryFitPro app. Once this has been done, the “Synchronise Now” option will appear in the USER Tab (the fourth tab to the far right... You have 4 Tabs: MAINPAGE, DETAILS, DEVICE & USER).. and from then onwards, when one re-opens the app during the rest of the day (I leave it closed during most of the day to conserve battery power), the info/data from the Fitness Tracker will AUTOMATICALLY BE SYNCHRONISED to the VERYFITPRO APP & BY EXTENSION TO THE APPLE HEALTH APP ( on iPhones ONCE YOU’VE GRANTED IT PERMISSION IN SETTINGS & THE APPLE HEALTH APP).5) Like ALL FITNESS TRACKERS including Fitbits, Apple Watches etc, when one is driving ALL TRACKERS counts one’s leg movements & to a certain hand movements on the steering wheel as walking steps ( I THINK IT’S BETTER TO WEAR THE TRACKER ON YOUR NON-DOMINANT HAND..)REVIEW OF WED 21 MAY 2018I love the Bonega Fitness Tracker HR. I was quite cynical about its capabilities, as I’ve bought and used quite a few Fitness Trackers (sub £50 and over £150) and sooner or later, it ONLY led to disappointment. This Fitness Tracker came well packaged together with an instruction manual attached to it. It came with BLACK wrist bands attached to the Fitness Tracker and an additional pair in PURPLE (almost PLUM in colour)... which I think is a very nice touch. The Fitness Tracker does not come with, NOR DOES IT NEED, a USB Charging Cable, as one end of the main component of the Tracker attachs directly to a USB Charger, once you’ve detached the wrist bands.I found it quite difficult getting the wrist bands off the main component of the Tracker until one of my little ones advised me “.. to pull gently but securely at the hinge where the wrist band meets the Tracker component, wriggle it gently & it comes off, and after that has been done, to do the same to the other side..”.Once you have just the main Tracker component, you will notice that on the side that had the wrist band buckle, that you have two short golden metal strips surrounded by two long golden metal strips - TRY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE not to touch them lots ,by accident, so they do not get damaged!According to the instruction manual you NEED to plug this end into a low-energy USB source that does not exceed 5V/500mA... This is quite a tall order! Fortunately I had a Belkin Power-Surge Protected Charger plug AND an old 5V/250mA USB charger plug (from one of the tiny phones I used to have).Accordingly, I plugged the Bonega main Tracker component into the 5V/250mA USB charger plug, the 5V/250mA plug into the Belkin Surge-Protected Charger & the Charger into a Power Source... (Why all this you may ask? - Basically because of lack of information OFTEN given about HOW TO CHARGE FITNESS TRACKERS, I’ve found my Fitness Trackers SOMETIMES stopped working properly or STOPPED altogether within a few weeks or less... So I now research online & follow to the letter instruction manual recommendation to prolong the life of FITNESS TRACKERS I buy!).Anyway, quickly moving on, according to the instruction manual, you need to ensure you plug the USB part of the main Tracker component the RIGHT WAY INTO A USB SLOT to avoid irreparable damage to the Tracker. Looking at the instruction manual & a bit of trial & error I worked out HOW to connect the main TRACKER component to a USB Charger the RIGHT WAY round :1) Hold the main TRACKER component in your hand, with the end with the golden plated metal strip uppermost and facing you (ONCE you’ve taken off the detachable wristbands)2) HOLD the USB Charger slot on your hand, in such a way that you CAN SEE the metal golden plated strips on the INSIDE OF THE USB SLOT & it is UPPERMOST when you’re holding the charger3) Then SLOT IN the USB PART of the main Tracker component from 1).The Tracker takes about 1-2 hours to charge. Mine took just over two hours. You then download the VeryFitPro App from the Apple iOS or the Google PlayStore, depending on what type of phone you have.. I have an iPhone (iOS).You then need to create an account with an email address & a password IF you haven’t already got one, and get your account verified through an email you would receive in your inbox.I was able to easily pair the Tracker with the app, although as someone has usefully commented in a previous review, it’s BEST to download the app FIRST & REGISTER the account IN ORDER to be able to EASILY & SUCCESSFULLY PAIR (the App uses the old-fashioned word “Bind”) the Tracker to the VeryFitPro App. I accepted all the Default Settings on the App... The ONLY things I changed wereI) I rejected the LOCATION Request as I do NOT like my whereabouts being tracked and also it drains the battery a tiny little bit (I think!)ii) I switched to “ON” the Call Alertiii) Under “Device” and then “More” and then “Activity Display”, I deleted two of the Activities and replaced them with “Fitness” and “Yoga”, as at the Leisure Centre, I like doing Pilates and Breathing Exercise-based Yoga”.I hope you’ve found my review very informative... Sorry it’s been very long & detailed..Two more things, I entered on the app, my personal details such as DOB, height, weight etc and how much SLEEP ideally I wanted each night (8 hours), though as had been previously mentioned it APPEARS IT ONLY TRACKS SLEEP BETWEEN 11:00pm & 8:00am the following day..And finally, I am quite impressed with the Heart Rate Sensor although it took quite a few hours to come into its own...

Doesn't last
Excellent watch to start but had a year now and the watch is almost useless. Keeps resetting the time to midnight therefore losing all data. Tried reinstalling app but still glitches. Useless as watch, fitness or sleep tracker. Now 1 month over a year so can't get money back.

Feeling cheated
GPS tracking is non-existent. For the same price or cheaper you can buy one that actually has this function.Side note: the app is anything but intuitive to use. One hidden feature is that you have to tap on info to have a detailed graph... It says it syncs with Google Fit, but it's useless. The synchronization with Apple's HealthKit works really well.

Would expect this to be more expensive
Bought it mostly as watch and heart rate monitor but pleased with all the extra things it does. Very easy to pair up with my iPhone and ready to use after 30 mins charging. The app is really good tracking steps, heart rate, sleep, calories used and more. The band gives you messages from your phone which is very useful. Very good inexpensive fitness tracker. If I had one criticism it’s that the screen isn’t bright outdoors, in the sun I struggle to read it.

Poor battery life
Although the tracker works well, it us let down by the battery which has to be charged every 24 hours which is inconvenient. I wonder if anyone else has encountered this problemSince writing my review the tracker continues to function but I have to charge it a couple of times a day, and recently, it no longer connects to my phone so am unable to monitor on a daily basis

Accurate, easy to wear, alerts and call management available through it
I really like this device. It came with a choice of 2 colours, black or purple. I had to charge the main piece which only took 30 mins. Enough time to read the manual and have a cuppa. I downloaded the free app that the device sends information too. It tracks steps, walking running and cycling. It also automatically tracks your bpm. It can manage phone calls as well and stuff like that. It connects via Bluetooth, I was surprised that it doesn't drain the battery. Also it can be unconnected from the phone and store its own information then syncs it with the app later on or when it's storage is full. I used it last night to track my sleep I was a bit slow dubious that these devices track sleep properly however (as you can see in the pic), it tracked it all properly even at 2 am when I got up to let her dogs out. Unfortunately I don't think I can keep this one my son has seen it and has decided he is having it to make sure he keeps fit. I'm going to let him have it, it's not just a watch and my son could do with alerts to remind him to move especially when he is in school alot sitting down. Really please with this, it was well packaged, easy to set up and apparently has other coloured bands. Oh and the watch bit itself plugs into a USB port to charge no mucking about.
