This mount is of far better quality that the picture, and some of the feedback comments, would suggest. For a start, the bar between clamp and ball is black rather than the apparent chrome in the photo, and it's a tube held on with a fat allen bolt up the middle. The utility of that is you can cut down the tube (and bolt) or extend with your own if the ball-to-clamp distance isn't right for you.The clamp itself has a single layer of rubber (or man-made equivalent) to protect the bar, and it doesn't close completely. But, nevertheless, it is a good looker, with great anodising and smoothed corners - nice to fondle too! The Garmin end feels like cheap plastic (it is) but it does the job just fine. Comes with two allen keys for the two sizes of bolts, and end covers for the sticky-out bit of the bolts if your mounting bar is thin enough for them to stick out.A tip: put some threadlock on the ball bolt before tightening it up to stop the leverage from fiddling with a mounted satnav from making it come loose.(This was delivered quickly too. As I write, it's still not due to arrive yet!)

Having fitted it to the crossbar on my bmw had to modify it as the weight of the 660 made it drop when riding over bumps. The screws are to small to tighten to bar. I would not buy if I knew this
