Lush duvet set
Truly luxurious duvet, and definitely excellent quality.Really good soft high thread Egyptian cotton and a beautiful finish- lovely two sided light grey on one side and metallic grey on the other. Usual button fastening .Please be warned as with expensive duvet sets this is the duvet cover only- not the pillows so it is expensive but luxury longer term purchase. If you want to recreate that lush hotel room feel this is a must purchase- not cheap but oozes quality and Im converted and your worth it .5 stars for quality .

I've no idea how they achieve the metallic finish - very comfortable to sleep under
This Kilburn duvet cover from the Peacock Blue Hotel range has a thread count of 300. Thread Count is the number of horizontal and vertical threads in one square inch of cotton fabric so a 300 tc fabric is 200tc (or 300 thread count) means there are 300 threads per one square inch. Thread counts can range from 60 to 800 with 180 to 350 being most popular. The higher the thread count the softer the sheet feels. So higher thread counts mean more expensive sheets, in general. The photo on the product packaging is quite confusing showing a bed made up with maybe half a dozen entirely differently finished fabrics with different colours and patterns so you'd be forgiven for being confused as to what you will actually get in the package, but of course it's supplied in a transparent thick plastic bag where all is revealed. The duvet cover has a repeating rectangular pattern and the grey cotton has been finished to appear metallic. I've no idea how they achieve this. It looks nice, albeit the sort of bedding a man might choose. It does look like the sort of thing you'd find it a hotel where they've made the effort. The duvet cover is two sided - the side that faces the outside world is the metallic pattern while the side you sleep against is plain light grey. The closure down the bottom uses transparent buttons. I don't know why but I've never owned a duvet cover where the buttons stay on over the long term, some of them always need re-sewing on at some stage. Who knows whether these will stay on. Personally I prefer poppers, but these buttons aren't too hard to open and close.I've only ironed this duvet cover a couple of times and all I know so far is that it doesn't seem to be one of those nightmarish cotton sheets that resist being made flat. It's nice and soft - maybe this is in part due to our fabric softener and tumble drying. It only takes one going over with the iron to achieve the desired result. As with all sheets it is a question of cost vs threadcount. It's very comfortable to sleep under, so assuming the price is right and the colour and pattern fit your taste this is a very nice duvet cover.

Beautiful duvet....but no pillowcase
The quality of this duvet cover feels luxurious and the Egyptian cotton at 200 thread makes the differenceHowever I am very disappointed a matching pillowcase set is not included. This colour is 'Platinum' which looks good and will be happily neutral in any bedroom. I there is a 'Stone' coloured similar product which quite expensive for what it is. Slightly frustrating therefore that this beautiful (but expensive) duvet cover comes without matching pillow case......and after checking on-line they are not available. Because this is such an unique colour it is going to be matched with my £2.99 white supermarket pillow cases

Beautiful
This is really nice cotton - when you look at it close up, the threads are tightly woven and it feels luxuriously soft and surprisingly warm.I really like the reflective aluminium colour as well - it doesn't come across in the pictures how good it looks. This is a top quality product, made from the best Egyptian cotton - I have to say that my eyebrows are raised at the price quoted for other colours, but that seems to be the pattern for top quality these days.I very much like the design which I haven't seen before. It's lovely and restful to sleep under. It gives a classy, unisex look to a bedroom.
