These bulbs are of the standard GU10 fitment, which are common in most modern 'downlight' & 'spotlight' fittings that operate at 230 volts in the UK. They are a direct replacement for the older halogen bulbs. To determine which bulbs you require, consider where they are going to be used. A general rule is that Cool White colour is best suited for working areas, Kitchens and Bathrooms. Cool White produces a more natural, daylight effect. Warm White however is best suited to Living Rooms and Bedrooms due to their softer, more yellow hue, giving a more relaxed light. That being said, it is down to personal choice and many people prefer the more natural light 'Cool White' produces. Lastly, you need to consider the light beam angle. This will depend on how many bulbs are in a room. For example, a large room with only 4/6 lights would be better suited to a wide angle beam of 120 degrees for a larger light spread. Equally, a room with many lights would benefit more from a direct narrow light beam of 30 degrees. 30 degree beams are also better suited to positional spot lights and downlights placed in kitchens and above work surfaces etc as they provide a much more focused beam of light to illuminate a specific area. *LED bulbs are not compatible with some older generation dimmer switches. In this situation customers may notice a slight buzzing sound when operated.
