Buy it. It makes your back yard totally habitable all summer
Buy it. It’s cheap and works great for what it does! This pic does not have the bottom filled with water. When you fill it with water it becomes much more firm and is great for formal things. In our yard - we keep it zipped all the time and lift it to get in and out and don’t fill the ring because our small dogs have learned how to plow through to get inside. Ours gets a ton of wear and tear because we use our garden quite a bit everyday and the dogs are in and out of it all day and so far this one is great. However! This is my second one. The first one I got did come with a tiny hole.. I returned it and got this one. This is probably the best thing I’ve bougbt for my garden. We have a pond, and massive gardens that produce a ton of bugs.. this thing is magical. Honestly, I don’t use the zipper specifically to preserve it. The zipper does work, and I have used it - but i predict that with regular usage, a tear or hangup could occur - and I am in and out of the thing all day so I predict I would be wearing the zipper out fast if I used it - so i dont. I just keep it down and then lift to get in and out. I will say this - I second what someone else said. I would pay more to get one made with better materials for the zipper. I looked for a better one. Not using the zipper works for me, because I am not too picky and the screen keeps the bugs out, but id happily pay an extra $20 for one I know i could unzip all the time without issues. But I still love it. We grill and just go right into it to eat.. it’s totally bug free. We can see and hear them outside of it. I’m thrilled. I hope it lasts a long time, but honestly I’d buy it again next summer if I had to. We have had a lot of neighbors and friends ask about it as well. This has enabled us to sit outside on the patio at night to eat, hang out with friends... and just chill. If something happens and the thing gets holes or falls apart super fast I’ll edit review, but so far we use it a lot all day/night and it’s holding up. 5 stars!!

Bug Protection That Works
The outdoor umbrella screen mesh does everything it's supposed to. It protects us well from all the flying bugs, it was easy to install, and it makes outdoor eating comfortable and enjoyable. And as for weighting it down, you don't have to fill the bottom with water, if you don't want to. It works well, anyway. One thing to keep in mind is that the mesh is relatively delicate, so you have to be careful not to snag it. But overall, it's great.

Overall, very happy with product
My second year using same netting over my 9’ umbrella. Gave it a 4-star rating due to pros & cons. But I do have to say, I am overall happy with the product. Pros: keeps bugs out so we can enjoy our deck spring, summer & fall in NH; no rips or tears in netting to date (& it is very windy here); bottom of netting reaches nicely to deck floor to keep out bugs; zipper still works but mostly lift up netting vs use zipper (have not put any water in tubing so when wind blows, umbrella twists and spins netting. (I just need to stabilize umbrella pole with a screw at umbrella base to resolve this. I do not want to put water in tubing as I have a small dog that likes to go under netting too. ) Cons: tough to put netting on; when you close umbrella, netting falls off & you are back struggling to put netting on when you open umbrella again; black netting has faded at top where it sits on umbrella from last year’s use. Today, I decided to read the reviews from others to see if anyone came up with a solution to keeping the netting on when you close umbrella. One reviewer used wooden clothes pins to clamp netting on top of umbrella & it seems to have resolved reviewer’s issue. Just ordered some heavy duty stainless steel clothes pins (vs wooden clothes pins due to wind coming across my deck) from Amazon and plan to try that solution. Wish me luck!

Love at first use; really works as advertised.
Wow. I'm impressed. We live on the side of mountain in the Blue Ridge. Our deck is up in the tree tops with a jaw-dropping view when the leaves are off the trees. It's quiet, peaceful, breezy and wonderful--except for the bugs. We've been beset by gnats that are so tiny they make no-see-ums look like helicopters. And they land bites that itch like crazy for a week. This net instantly transformed our deck into paradise. It takes two to install the first time since you have to get it over the top of the umbrella (NOTE TO THE SELLER---innovate this with a 2-way zipper that allows the net to be completely open so you don't have to loop the top over the umbrella). It's large enough to encompass our 5-foot round table, rocker chairs and a settee. Our umbrella is a standard 9 foot crank model bought at Lowe's. We tightened the top hole using the drawstring to about 3 feet in diameter, then walked it up over the top of the umbrella (hubby had to stand on a bench). Then we cranked up the 'brella and gradually tugged the net down as I loosened the drawstring. Once the tube was on the deck, the net still had about 6" of overlap on the umbrella. Filling the bottom tube was easy, though I did have to track down a "firehose" style hose nozzle to fit in the fill hole (you just poke the tip of the nozzle in until it seals in the hole. Note there is also a blow cap on the other end if you want to inflate it with air. Don't step on the tube if you don't want to get your legs soaked--the end cap popped off and gave me quite a shock! HAHA.The one unforseen "drawback"? The net is so visually non-apparent (nearly transparent) that our cats can't see it. They are having difficulty grasping the concept of coming in through the door, or even under the skirt if I hold up the tube. LOL. Once inside, we all enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of sweet mountain breezes with NO GNATS, mosquitos, flies or carpenter bees. The birds even stopped noticing us and resumed feeding on the feeder stand not 10 feet away.I'll update this review later in the summer as to durability. For now, it' laying on the deck (we have to crank down and strap the umbrella when we are not using it since the wind can get really strong up here and blow over our table otherwise). I should be able to just pull it up around the canopy and tighten the drawstring, crank up the umbrella, then loosen the string to bring the tube back to the deck.
