Vocabulary from Latin and Greek Roots - Level VII

This was great. I plan to purchase more.

My twins used this book before starting seventh grade. It was part of the material provided to them to use during summer work. They worked thrity minutes each day. This book was worked on in order. They did not skip around in it. The lessons are short and simple. Vocabulary is provided with definitions. The workbook pages are simple to do yet provide a nice challenge for the student. It was a great foundational exercise for the Latin class they are taking in public school this year as seventh graders.

I am a Latin teacher who was looking for a workbook on English derivatives. These volumes fit the bill admirably. The format is superb: each chapter starts with a list of important Latin words and under each Latin word a list of English derivatives from that word. Then in subsequent sections of the chapter the students are exposed to the derivatives in a number of different contexts. There even is an exercise in which students are coached in figuring out English words which they haven't seen before from the Latin words they learned in the chapter. The whole thing is a model of clarity and unpretentiousness. I did notice some inaccuracies (I believe that adjacent is listed as deriving from jacio when it actually comes from jaceo), but this is minor compared to the service the series offers (and there are a lot of them!). Thank you.

My daughter (13 yrs old) loves this book. Easy to understand and a little challenging which is nice. The only problem is that the answer book must be ordered from the company. It's not sold anywhere else. I believe this book will be very helpful for the ACT test. This is a must in building your child's vocabulary. Glad we bought it!

We are homeschooling and this book has been an essential piece of our lessons! My daughter is working on 4/5th grade work and this has been a bit of a challenge, but she does great with it and it has helped her spelling as well as her understanding of new words -- she is able to break them down very easily and come up with very close definitions! This is a Must have!!

We have been using this in schooling our kids. I am very happy with this series of vocabulary books.

I bought this book for my grandchildren, who are in Junior High School, to help with word morphology.I have never found a better book. In the district i used to teach in, this was the text given to all junior high students, andwe always scored well above the national averages on " tests"

I bought this book for my middle schooler who likes to learn Latin words. He was able to read through the definitions but unable to do the activities since this book does not have an answer key. How do you check your activities without an answer key? In any case, my son enjoyed looking through it.
