What size for 42 inch waist?

my waist is 36-38 and the large size fits comfortably, They are not baggy, I will order more.

Do they have pockets?

They have two front pockets but no back pockets

I’m a 36 waist/34 inseam. What size will fit?

I'm also a 36/34, I bought the size large and they fit really well in terms of waist and length but they're a bit form fitting around my thighs and calves (but I'm a former ballet boy with thick quads and even thicker calves) and they look a little like yoga pants from 2009 for that reason, their still super comfy though. If you want loose fitting (like the picture) and you've got thicker legs I'd go for XL, otherwise L should be perfect.
