This is a terrific zip tie tool, it's built like a rock, probably will work forever, will do an excellent job with most zip ties. I actually had to return it because I already have another zip tie tool, and I mistakenly thought this one would handle some larger zip ties that I have, which I, like a dork, thought were ¼" but are in fact ½"...face palm, face palm. Not this companies fault at all, this is actually a sturdier tool than the one I have, but I returned it because I actually need one that can handle the larger zip ties. Even though I didn't use this one, it's obviously a quality tool, I wish I didn't already have a similar one, I definitely would have kept it.

I'm putting up Christmas lights with eye hooks and zip ties. With this I can pull on the light string to make it tight and then clamp down the zip tie. Much tighter than by hand.

This tool seems to be well made and worked just fine, but it does not cut the zip tie flush. This is not a big deal until you cut yourself on the little nub that sticks out from the zip tie. This little nub can be quite sharp and will cut you. I have owned tools that look the same as this but actually did cut the zip tie flush. I tried repeatedly to cut zip ties and get a flush cut. The picture in the Amazon posting shows the ties flush cut but I could not make it work. This seems like a very good tool that is well made if you are not concerned about this one flaw. I have cut myself too many times reaching into a piece of equipment or rack and encountering a poorly cut zip tie. I did return it, but it does seem sturdier than the plastic imitations.

This Ty gun feels really nice when I was using it. Make sure to adjust too the size of the zip Ty’s you’re using. It will brake them. It cuts Ty very nicely with no sharp edges
