Great tool for the price but I have a wish list
I absolutely love this slicer. My dominant cutting arm (left) also happens to have a pretty severe elbow issue that causes me a lot of pain with some motions, and unfortunately slicing is one of them. Additionally, I do a lot of curing, smoking, etc. so when I'm making things like bacon it's nice to have easy, consistent thin cuts. I used to do it by hand with a high quality sujihiki and it worked reasonably well, but it would take a LONG time to get through that much pork belly and my arm would be complaining hard the entire time.Anyway, back to the slicer. Looks great, and it's easy to use. It's incredibly quiet, almost completely silent when it's running. Removal of components is pretty easy and smartly designed to not be too terribly fussy. Plenty of power to slice through meat with ease. Even impossibly thin slices come out perfect (though you can cut so thin that the meat just disintegrates). So what would I like to see?- A couple more inches on the tray would be great. The pork bellies that I make bacon from, even after curing and smoking, are a bit too big to fit in the tray. So I have to cut them in half and I end up with shorter bacon slices. Not a huge deal since it tastes the same, but it's not ideal.- Cleaning a meat slicer in a home kitchen is a pain, I think that's probably a universal truth. But I have to think there's some way to take at least a little of the suffering away. Maybe make some of the removable components dishwasher safe? Seal the motor and make it possible to spray the unit down with a cleaner and just hose it off outside? I don't know. How do delis clean their machines? It takes longer to clean the thing than to actually use it, and the idea of cleaning it fills me with dread because it's a pain. Not to mention having to clean around the edge of the blade which is not fun.- Finally, it would be nice if the meat holder spikes were retractable. There are times when I don't want the spikes and/or they get in the way due to the odd shape of the meat being sliced.

You get what you pay for
I recently purchased the BESWOOD 10" Premium Chromium-plated Steel meat slicer, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. The quality of this machine is immediately apparent. Its seamless operation slices through meat with the kind of ease that one would hope for in a premium kitchen appliance. Whether you're aiming for thick cuts for a hearty meal or delicately thin slices that could rival paper in finesse, this slicer delivers with remarkable consistency. The chromium-plated steel design not only contributes to a slick and professional appearance but also serves a functional purpose, facilitating an effortless clean-up process. Cleaning kitchen equipment can often be a chore, especially with tools that come into contact with raw foods. However, this slicer is engineered with convenience in mind, making it accessible even for those who might not be as familiar with meat slicer maintenance. In conclusion, if you're in the market for a reliable meat slicer that promises both precision in slicing and ease of cleaning, the BESWOOD 10" slicer is a superb choice. It’s a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about their kitchen equipment.

Step up to the real game!
Wonderful. Infinite thickness control. Quiet, powerful, Candy Apple Red and Chrome chic. At this price point, there are no negatives. Is it b—-h to clean? Heck yeah! Just plan ahead and resolve to give it the thorough cleaning it deserves, after you buzz through your slicing chores. No whining! Here’s a tip: watch an episode of Dexter and then prep your slicing area the way he does. You’ll get away with murder!

Great slicer, but a little hard to clean
The slicer itself is absolutely great. It easily cut through 15 lbs of cheese that we had with almost no effort. It is also extremely quiet, which is nice if you're using it in your home.Cleaning, for the most part, is easy enough except the blade itself. The blade cannot be removed and wants to spin slightly as you clean it. What I did to clean it was to take a cloth towel, press against the middle of the front of the blade, clean the back by cleaning the exposed area and slightly turning it, continuing to do this around the entire blade. Once that was done, I basically reversed the process: Hold the back with a towel with enough space so my fingers were nowhere near the blade then, on the front side, wipe from the middle out. I cleaned the area around the blade guard and the edge using the provided brush, which helped. Then I rinsed the blade and wiped it down on both sides, looking for areas I may need to clean further. Eventually, it was all clean.Honestly, other than cleaning the blade, this slicer is exactly what I wanted. It's powerful, it's easy to move the handle, it is really quiet and makes a miserable job so much easier. If it wasn't for the blade issue, I'd easily have given it five stars. Even with the blade cleaning, I'd still give it 4.5.

What a Beast!!!
This is no light weight, flimsy meat cutter. It's heavy duty and gets the job done! I love this machine. I use it to make beef jerky mostly, and it has no problem slicing off paper thin cuts of frozen meat. I've read several complaints saying it's difficult to clean - I don't have that problem at all, but then, I don't expect it to be a five minute job either. This is a heavy duty piece of kitchen machinery, and it needs to be respected as such and cleaned properly, which I don't find to be a big deal. This meat slicer was well worth the investment, and I anticipate it will last for many years to come.
