Premium Dual Blade Foil Cutter - Effortlessly Prepare Wine Bottles for Serving

Not for professional use. Been in the beverage business a long time and usually use the 4 wheel type. They usually work for 4-6 months (regardless of brand except for the Screwpull version which is just too expensive) before wearing out. So been looking around for something different and resonably priced that might last longer. Found this one but was skeptical about the serrated blades giving a clean cut but thought I would give this a try anyway. Been using it now for a couple of weeks just to make sure they at least don't fall apart after one or two uses before reviewing it. The phillip screws holding down the blades are pretty good and a nice touch (but only if you can get replacements). However, as I guessed, it does not cut the foil cleanly. Slightly ragged edge of the foil on the wine bottle and a lot of shavings especially from the "metal" type of foil. For my purposes, it does not make the grade. For the home user, it should be okay as long as they don't mind the ragged edge and shavings. The one really good point is the rubberized handle surface. Makes for great grip when your hands are wet. As for ease of effort, no different from any other type.

The foil cutter would get five stars if the blades were smooth instead of serrated. Product works, but the foil on the bottle sometimes bunches up while using, due to the serrated edges of the blades. This was a replacement for a similar product I had, with smooth blades, that I used for years and it worked great.

Disappointed that it came chipped. It was packaged with another big and heavy item and sure that it was tossed around in the box. It probably should of been bubble wrapped. However, the functionality of the item works great and excited to have one of these!

Look Ma, no wheels. I bought this because one of the little wheels on my regular foil cutter wore out. So I thought this would be better. No wheels but two opposing serrated blades (dull) that saw off the foil if you squeeze hard enough.1. Its not effortless: much harder than the wheeled cutter.2. It leaves metal filings behind on the counter or on the top of the cork, depending on the foil material; the cheap stuff it just tears off.I guess I'll go back to the wheels.

I love it. I have bought so many cutters and the one I truly loved recently broke and I was desperately in need of one that worked. This one is almost the same as my previous one and definitely cuts the foil. I would recommend.

I ordered this same cutter previously and have been very happy with the sharp edge to cut foil. This one is has a ridged cutting blade with is not near as effective and the knife blade sharpness of the cutter previously purchased and what I thought I would recieve again. The box is the same but the cutter is not.

The Premium Dual Blade Foil Cutter looks nice and lightweight, but shreds the foil instead of cutting it clean with one twist around.

Meh! Gets the job done, but leaves jagged edges and pieces of foil that fall into your glass as you pour.
