This is a review of just my initial experience. This bow arrived yesterday, this is my first ever bow, I have little experience with archery, I'm a noob. This review is based on my first two days owning this bow, have not even taken it to a range yet, so please take that into account.I ordered the 45 pound model. Holy crap, that's a lot of pull. I went into this new hobby to me knowing it was going to work some muscles I've neglected, but damn. I could not draw this bow to full extent. I lacked the muscle. It just works parts of your back and triceps that don't normally get worked. But my physical weakness aside, I ran into an issue of my own design. I used the provided stringer, on the last time I used it I didn't take care to ensure the string was totally centered, and when I put on full tension the string slipped, snapped to one side, and completely bent the bottom limb of the bow. I damn near cried because I instantly loved this thing when I got it. Did some research and found out you can kind of easily bend that thing back into place, and you can use hot water or a heat gun if it comes to that. I'm thinking I don't really trust me eyeballing it, in the long run. But it doesn't seem to be totally trash yet. I haven't even shot a single arrow out of it, haven't gotten to the range! But again, I'm now worried about any tiny bend getting worse over time.I will say that I am not at all saying the bend I gave my bow was a product defect. 100% my fault because I'm totally new at this.Even though I think I have the bend mostly straightened out, I actually decided to buy another one at 35 pounds. I like the fit and finish and just everything about it so much I want a lighter one to use until I build the muscle for the 45 pound draw. If that bow isn't totally messed up.The absolute fail in this kit is the bow stringer. As I was stressing about the fact that I just maybe ruined my new bow by bending the limb, the stringer violently snapped on me, sending the bow string slapping hard on my knees. It hurt. Get a better stringer. Do not trust the stringer provided. That was maybe the tenth time I used it to add or release tension from my bow.The bracer is nice, but the tag ends of the straps are unfinished. That's fine for me because they're too long and I plan on cutting them down then lightly burning the ends. People have complained about the bow string ends being frayed and loose. That's very true. Me being new to archery, I don't know if that's a real issue or just a cosmetic thing so I'm just going to leave it.My takeaways here are totally just impressions from a guy just now getting into archery, and should be weighed as such.1 beautiful construction, weight, craftsmanship, design.2 45 pound draw too much for beginners3 easy to bend recurve bow limbs, be SO careful4 the stringer that comes with the kit is garbage. It failed me under full tension and I ended up getting hurt a little. I actually ordered a better stringer at the same time I bought the bow but it is set to arrive a week later.5. I didn't get a chance to put the "silencers" on, but I watched some videos of people reviewing this bow even after adjusting the brace height, but before installing the silencers, saying how quiet this bow is.Wut.This bow SLAPS. I'll be really curious to see if silencers help. Maybe other bows are even louder and that's why they claim that, I don't know. But it was not something to write home about for quietness in my opinion. More of a slap boinggg.Overall, the bow is absolutely well made and just beautiful. For the price I decided to just pull the trigger on ordering a second one with a lighter draw. Again, take this review for what it really is though. I have not taken this bow to the range. I did however buy another one at a lesser draw weight because the quality is top notch, I recognize I compromised the first one due to bad form stringing it, and I hope to build my muscles up to that draw weight eventually.But also get yourself a better stringer. The one provided with the kit failing on me, just snapping, was a super violent and painful event.The bracer seems great and the glove is fine but made for maybe not American hands, too small.

I own 5 bows including recurve, take down, and horse bows, 3 new over the past 2 months as my experience and archery abilities improve, and the Royal X8 Hunting One-piece Bow at 35 draw is the best I have ever shot. The package included much more than I needed (arrows, arm guard, etc.) but the price for what you get in the bows performance is incredible. The comfort to the hand, smooth draw and accuracy is beyond compare for this price range and beyond.

Just started with Trad Archery a few months ago with a flimsy little starter bow. Just finally upgraded from that to the Royal X8 and WOW the difference is insane. So much bang for your buck with this little powerhouse. So happy with this purchase and absolutely recommend it.

I love this bow. The craftsmanship is way better than I expected at this price. It feels solid, shoots smoothly, and looks great. If you're after a well-made traditional bow without breaking the bank, this one delivers.

This is the third Sanlida bow I have purchased and the quality if first rate. I will say that this one did have quite a bit of positive tiller at 3/8" but it is still within factory specs and still shoots well. I did reach out to Sanlida customer service regarding the tiller and the bowstring not having a large enough loop on one end to slide down the limb. They responded quickly and even sent me not one but two new strings right away! The accessories that come with it are decent but I have replaced the arrows with a better quality. If you are looking to purchase a new bow I don't think you can go wrong with a Sanlida bow.
